Slide stop/ slide release redesign on 2.0?
Any news on why the slide stop was redesigned on the 2.0? Just wondering. Have two shields live them, but got rid of FS because slide would drop inconsistently and many times not chamber a round. Was wondering if that issue might be part of the redesign. The M&P series feels true best but couldn't live with inconsistant slide drop. If the have cured that I plan on a FS and. Compact. Thanks for the insight.

I'm not sure if they redesigned it specifically for this reason but people were saying the slide would drop when you inserted a new mag with the 1.0. That hasn't happened once with my 2.0

Like they used to say at IBM, that's not a bug, that's a feature

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will pipe in here shortly. The rumor is the dohicky on the left side slide release is to prevent auto forwarding. I'm still waiting to hear if they actually changed the profile of the locking lugs to improve the accuracy. Getting info from a gun company seems to be as easy as pulling teeth...On a pissed off 300# gorilla with no anesthesia.

That is what I have read, too.
MY Plastic M&P is very good on autoclose but a friend's will occasionally fail to pick up a round or jam hard. This costs him all the IDPA match time saved on reloads but does develop his vocabulary.
As far as getting details, you are right. One maker recently posted pictures of the latest model stripped to show changes, but another one will not.

Thanks everyone. So I guess the wait is on. Probably like watching a Glazier move. Hope it isn't too long the HK p30 or VIP 9 sure feels good but haven't shot one yet. Afraid to might have to go to the dark side.
Thanks again, tbird
