Thinking about swapping out the trigger to an Apex. But, want to make sure of production date to make sure the Trigger kit will work.

99.8% of the time the end label on the box has the date of manufacture printed on it.

The old style would be a 4 digit number under the "SPEC ORD" heading the newer ones just have a 6 digit number printed on the label.

I have a Shield 9mm I purchased in 2015. Its S/N is HKLxxxx. The problem with the three letter prefix is they are not always sequential.

Just go onto the Smith & Wesson website. Under customer service, they have a live chat, it only takes a few minutes for them to come on live and look it up.. i just checked on the used M&P 22 compact I bought a couple of weeks ago.
