Magwell for PC CORE M&P9?
I have a Performance Center CORE M&P9 that I'd like to mount a mag well onto. Two questions:
1) What mag wells will mount on a PC CORE M&P9?
2) Is the Frame Tool removed or left alone when mounting a mag well on a PC CORE M&P9? It seems to me like the Frame Tool would be in the way of mounting a mag well.
Thank you in advance!

1) JP, Speed Shooter Specialties, Springer Precision and others. Google is your friend.
2) Frame tool is removed.

The frame tool is removed and a replacement pin goes in it's place, the magwell is hooked over the front of the grip and a screw goes into the replacement insert to hold it into place. The picture shows the screw and insert in place. This is a Speed Shooters Specialty Limited/Open magwell, they also make an ESP magwell which isn't as big.

IF I mount one of the Speed Shooters Specialty Limited/Open magwells, would I need magazine baseplate extensions for my S&W magazines? I ask because I found out with a CZ P-09 that I mounted a mag well on that I did not need the baseplate extensions that I had also purchased....the magazines were easily seated with their original baseplates. I realize sometimes the mag well manufacturers will claim extensions are needed to sell more product. I also realize the extensions are often needed due to the depth of the mag well. And having the extra weight that the extensions provide helps when ejecting magazines.

You will need mag extensions for the Limited/Open magwells. There are a couple of reasons. The stock M&P baseplates extend too far forward to clear the magwell (it is possible to cut the front part off, but that makes the mags tough to handle). Also, it's difficult to seat the mags completely, you have to get your fingers (or thumb) into the magwell to seat them. Then if the mag doesn't drop free by itself, it's really difficult to get a grip on them to pull them out. Much easier just to get extended baseplates.
