Default M&P9 2.0 slide questions

I just bought a M&p9 2.0 and it's the 1st gun I've ever own. I was just curious if there was a kit or a way to put a longer slide on this. It's a 4.25" barrel and where I live has no reason to have a compact and I was wondering if theres a way to make it full sized?

It can be done...but would cost almost as much as just buying a new gun. There's a new 5" slide available on Ebay for $289 without the barrel. A barrel would run around another $180. Check out the Performance Center kit from S&W...that may be a bit cheaper.

Thanks. I did see that it seems to cost a hell of a lot. I might as well buy a performance kit. I agree.

Cheapest option is sell it and buy a 5” if that is what you want. A 5” will be a little softer shooting, but not by much. In all honesty do not expect that a 5” gun is going to be much, if any, more accurate than the 4.25” gun either. A good example, I had a M&P9 2.0 5”, yet I was significantly more consistently accurate with my Springfield XDm 3.8” Compact. The difference was I had over 5,000rds more of practice shooting the XDm Compact.

The M&P 2.0 with a 4.25" barrel is a full sized gun. Yes, you can make it a 5" gun, but there is almost nothing to gain. You get no ballistic advantage and it only increases the sight radius .75" more. This is not significant for how this gun is used.

So I got to take a look at it the other day while paying for the ffl fees and paying them to block the mags, and I gotta say you guys were right. I didn't realize how the gun was gonna feel until I had it in hand. It felt really nice. Can't wait until my permits complete and I can take this thing to the range. Its actually narrower than I anticipated and I can kinda see why alot of people swap the triggers. it was nice but I can see the complaints.

Block the mags? If you mean reduce their capacity then you got ripped off. Smith makes specific packages with mags that are already reduced.

I think you should learn to shoot what you've got now and after a thousand rounds or so start tinkering.
