The N82 is a great holster, very comfortable and conceals well. It gets hot though, IMHO. I sanded my 2.0c grips down, and always wear an undershirt. The sanding of the grips helps a TON to reduce scratching. It also helped the cover shirt snag/catch less when just moving around, which is also really annoying.

If the sharpness of the factory grip was the only deterrent to buying a S&W M&P, I would not let that stop me. It is so easily fixed, quickly and basically at no cost. It’s a non-issue.

Seriously, just get fine sand paper and spend a minute lightly sanding the entire grip so it doesn’t rub you or stick to your shirt. All you want to do is lightly flatten the tip of the pyramid. It leaves no marks.

I didn't read all the posts -- too many.

MJH238 -- I thought the Remora had an extended area against the skin to prevent irritation. Do you have the right holster for your gun or using something too small for a FS?

So what is the verdict on sanding the grip? Does so doing actually result in the Shield NOT sticking to a t-shirt? It'd be great to not have to add an over-grip but end up with a stock 2.0 grip that sticks to the hand better than the Original without grabbing clothing. Unless I'm confident that will be the result after a bit of sanding, without degradation of the aesthetics of the grip--wouldn't wanna ugly the thing up--I figure I'll go for the Original (or 1.0 or whatever it's called).

The grip is abrasive if in contact with the skin of one's body. This is no concern to me as I do not carry mine next to my skin but in a holster on my hip for protection purposes.

I did not buy the M2.0 to conceal. I carry concealed a 9mm Shield for that purpose.

For handling in humid atmosphere, the M2.0 grip is superior to most every other grip. In cold weather, I wear gloves and the grip is easier to hold than other types.

The pistol is what it is. If the pistol exhibits all of the other factors that you want in a defensive weapon, then consider a covering such as a Hogue or Talon.

It's hard to tell that my Shield backup is even there, but the 2.0 is seriously bothering me. What can I do, short of sanding down the grip, to make my 2.0 tolerable? I may have to end up switching back to a Glock as my primary if I can't solve this relatively easily.
I love the Shield for CC, for all the obvious reasons others do. I have the 2.0 as well, but don't carry it because of the texture - which I love at the range and, as it it used for home defense - it's fine.

I would suggest just sanding it down. Knock off the high points and you'll likely have everything the 2.0 offers, plus, the comfort. It's a great gun and will, IMO, be a milestone for S&W for a long time.

Been carrying the 2.0C AIWB for months. The texture thing is way over blown. I knocked mine done with some crocus cloth (800 grit), took all of five minutes and it is perfect. I do wear an undershirt but I always do that when carrying anyway.

I tried a Hogue wrap and it worked like a charm.

Default M&P 2.0 Grip Sanding Solution

I did the following:

1. Field stripped weapon.

2. I used 600 grit sandpaper and very slowly gently and carefully dry sanded down the grip to still allow it to have its texture without the extra roughness. I used my SIG P365 as a comparison for texture during this process.

3. After I did that, I followed up with 1500 grit sandpaper and wet sanded it down.

4. Final step using dish soap and washcloth cleaned it up and dried it.

5. Re-assembled weapon and oiled it thoroughly

6. Used my in pants holster and carried it to test effectiveness. Weapon didn’t catch or snag on any clothing. Grip texture still serves its intended purpose without discomfort to skin while conceal carrying. No catching on shirts or jackets.

Taking my time and paying close attention to detail, Whole sanding task took about 20 minutes from start to finish.
