Default Shield .45 Question

I have a new Shield 45, I really like the pistol; feels good in the hand, conceals well, accurate, and has been reliable with ball and HP. My question/issue is that on occasion upon firing the magazine will unseat and the next round obviously wont chamber. It happens infrequently, I have tried to make it happen by shifting my grip but I can't replicate it on demand. I have had it happen periodically with all four of the S&W magazines. My first thought is was my grip that some how I am pressing the mag release with my support hand, i don't think it is likely that my strong hand is causing the problem, but I suppose it is possible. My next step is to have another person shoot it and sees if it occurs with them. If it does not happen with the second shooter, then it is my grip. If it does happen to them as well, then it must be the gun, mags, or a combination of both.

My question to you all, has anyone else experienced this issue? If you have, what did you find was the cause and cure, if you found one.

Thanks 2Guns

Either it's your grip or your magazine release button is bad
put your magazine in UNLOADED (and gun unloaded) then pull and wiggle the magazine by the baseplate around and see if it comes out...if not it's your grip. You can try this with a loaded magazine and UNOADED chamber. BE VERY CAREFUL...if it still doesn't come out then it's your grip again

bought a Shield 9/2016 and at about the 1,000 round mark I had several mags "pop" out while shooting.
Had the magazine release replaced and it fixed the problem.

2G, I had the same problem with my 7 round magazine. It would unseat on the 3rd of 5 rounds, Happened to 3 of us while shooting it at the range. Sent the magazine to S&W and they sent it back with new innards. No issues since.

Yes, I have experienced this issue as well. I thought it was my right hand thumb accidently engaging the mag release.

Finally shot my .45 Shield again. I had a mag drop twice when loaded with Federal Premium Hydra-Shok 185 g (+P). When I loaded the same mag with Freedom Munitions 230 g remanufactured ammo, the mag did not drop. I loaded other mags with Speer LE Gold Dot 185 g and the Freedom Munitions, and none dropped.

The extra recoil of the (+P) ammo caused the muzzle to flip up more than with the other ammo, which caused my right-hand thumb to accidently engage the mag release. Once I figured out what was going on, I adjusted my grip. Also, I will not be using the Hydra-Shok or any (+P) for SD in the .45 Shield.
