Default Stick Me With a Fork

It's done. Paperwork finally came in so I raced over and picked up my can. YHM Sidewinder 40.

I bought some 200gr sub-sonic HP's. Not as quiet as it should have been. It was like a 22 short. I need to chronograph the rounds to see what ft/sec they are. They are supposed to be 950 ft/sec.

Looks like a Chihuahua with a transplant from a Great Dane.

Yeah, it does look a little odd on a compact instead of a full size.
I couldn't find taller sights but I practice with and without the can. It would be great if I could get some though.

Dawson has quite a variety in different heights. I've never used them, but I was looking there on a project I did. They have a good reputation from what I've heard.

Ridiculous! But that doesn't matter. This is the beauty of the US. You can do what you want and it doesn't have to be based on need. I love it.

Is this your first time shooting a center-fire suppressor?

No. I have a few more. This is the first YHM Sidewinder. First 40. So far it's the loudest, with this ammo. Going to try to hunt for some more.

I was just curious because I was disappointed the first time I used a center-fire can. I don't know anyone with that particular can.

I finally got out to shoot again. Fired several rounds. Not happy with the volume. Tried it "wet" (5cc water) and very very pleased. It was as quiet as some of my silenced 22's.

When did you submit your paperwork? I submitted mine in August and am still waiting.
