Default Shot my new PC Shield 9mm today

Decided to test out my new PSA AR9 and PC Shield 9 today. Ran 150 flawless rounds through the AR9. Dad was really impressed with it that he decided to buy it off me..

Love the trigger on the PC Shield compared to my other normal Shields. I effortlessly rang steel at around 15 yards thanks to the nice trigger and great sights. Close to 100 rounds I was starting to miss the steel plate. At first I thought fatigue was kicking in. Pulled the trigger once more and my rear sight flew off. Found the sight but no setscrew or safety plunger spring. Guess I'll be contacting S&W tomorrow.

Looks like what I've been hearing about their QC going downhill is true. I have 3 other Shields and the finish on the slides are a lot better. The PC finish looks almost like a spray paint job. There were a couple burrs in the slide channel that I had to file off as well. I was planning on picking up a PC Shield 45 as well but now having 2nd thoughts.

Wow, just wow!

I can understand the frustration. When I changed out the sights on my Shield, I had to use a sight pusher to get them off. Can't imagine the rear one flying off.

From what others have stated with their experiences, you should have no problem with S&W making it right.

Take care and keep us updated,

Good luck. I just dealt with them on a take down screw issue with my Victory. They sent out a new one easy peasy.

Guess you didn't like your new AR since your dad bought after first range visit?

Numerous complaints about sights falling off and the fiber optic rods falling out. That's why I went with the standard Shield and put Hi Viz sights on mine.
Watched Hickok45 shoot the PC version but said he to preferred the standard Shield with fiber optic sights.

Guessing I can't go wrong with his assessment. Lol

Actually I really liked the AR9 but my dad would just not give up so I gave in. It actually took me a little over a year to get the upper I wanted. I signed up to be e-mailed when it was in stock but was a little slow because it would be OOS by the time I checked. Anyway he said I can shoot it anytime I want and he always goes shooting with me so no biggie.

Just talked to customer service and was told they don't have any parts and that I'd have to pay out of pocket for the parts I need through Midway USA or send the gun in. I'm really not happy right now but the gun sure was shooting great 'til the sight flew off. Not really sure what I'm going to do just yet.

You need to call back and talk to the performance center customer service. Your gun has lifetime warranty. If they are out of fiber optic sights which I doubt I'd pressure them to put night sights on it.

I actually like the fiber optic sights and this is basically my "range" Shield so really don't need night sights. Will probably give them a call again this afternoon and hopefully get a different person.
