Shield 45 followed me home
Brought this guy home today. I've been wanting one since they came out.

I'll need to get some additional magazines for it, that's for sure.

Very nice !!
Does anyone know if the .45 is the same frame size as the 9mm and the .40? Just wondering if the same leather can be used for all of them.

The 45 is a little taller (slide to mag well), a little thicker and a little longer barrel. It wouldn't fit in my molded kydex holster for the 9mm, but a leather holster may have enough play for it to fit.

It's a little bigger. I bought a safariland leather holster that is made for the 9 but fits my 45. The size difference is there but not by much.

That price is for the full size magazine. The shield ones are $25.99 which is still a good price.

The .050 thicker was to much for my holsters, but unlike plastic. It maybe possible to wet them slightly and reform. I did that with my pancake I made for my 9mm Shield, but now my 45 rests in it's place.
There s pic of a tooled shield pancake on my website.

Really happy with it. This was from Friday. Good trigger, good accuracy & fed everything from each magazine. Shot various FMJ 230's, Corbon 230 JHP +P's, Hornady 230 JHP +P's, Sig Sauer 200 JHP, Federal 230 JHP's. I like the extended mag more because of the better grip it allows, but I'm very happy with it. Holsters are on the way also.

I bought mine about 2 weeks ago and headed out to the range with enough ammo to break it in right, along with the wife's new Springfield XDS. I am totally sold on mine after I dumped 500 rounds in 3 different brands through mine. I set up at 25,15,and 7 yards, the gun was more accurate than I was to say the least.
It is now in the number #2 slot in my edc rotation, my 686 will always come in first especially during hunting season.
