Default New member - Just picked up a pair of S&W

Howdy from balmy Ohio! I've been lurking on here for awhile now and since I just picked up a couple S&Ws tonight, I figured it was time to create an account!

I ordered a LEO trade in M&P .40 from Buds and a NIB SD40 VE from GrabaGun. I plan to build the M&P up to use for USPSA (right now using an XDm in 9mm) and really just couldn't pass up on the deal for the SD40 VE...figured it would be good to compare side by side with the M&P.

The M&P came with a small backstrap attached (Large already ordered) and 3 mags. The night sights need to be refreshed but otherwise it's clean and in great condition, especially for the price.

Here are some pics of the new hardware.

Thanks! Does anyone know if someone makes a grip extension for the SD40VE? Something like an extended base plate / pinky extension, maybe? I do feel like the grip is not as comfy as the M&P.

I emailed Pierce Grip to ask if they were going to offer an extension for the SD series and this is what I got back:

"There are currently no plans to make an extension for the S&W SD40VE. We will pass along your request. Thanks for checking with us."

I actually bought a Blackhawk Serpa CQC paddle holster for the M&P and tried the SD40VE in it. It fit with a little effort...I think the retaining screw could be adjusted and it would fit better.
