Default .380 bodyguard

Well january had send in my .380 bodyguard for because the magazine release button wasn't working. Clips kept falling out. Got it back from repair had wait after new years. They replaced the laser, trigger and mag release button. Guy at cabelas where i bought the pistol from. Slap the clip in. Don't. do that anymore. So when i put a clip in now i just push the mangazine release button. Because when you "slap in the clip" it just wears out the plastic inside 😤 thinking about purchasing the model 327 revolver 8 shot .357 magnum any advice.

First, slapping the mag (not clip) into place is how I was trained to execute a reload so if that will damage the gun it is not well made. My M&P .380 did not have a problem like that and I did "slap" the mag in when reloading at the range. Mine developed a light strike problem after about a year so I solid it, with full disclosure, at a loss. While others have had good service out of these tiny .380s my experience w/all of them has been a variety of failures so I just went back to my J frame.

Isn't that how is suppose to be? are you really worried of wearing the mag release out?

For the most part the bodyguards are very reliable especially the more recent years of production. If i ever had a problem with mine id simply get it fixed by S&W, I love mine, even color filled it this morning.

I have always pushed (held) the mag release when putting in a magazine. I figured it would be less wear on the gun

Default Want to purchase smith and wesson m&p shield. 40 2.0

Now smith and wesson comes out with the 2.0 m&p shield line. Thinking about purchasing the smith and wesson m&p shield 9mm or the 40 cal. Aslo glock has gen 5 out in the 40 cal. Never owned a glock before. But I have fired a glock 17 and 19. At a shooting range. Recoil was a bit much for me. So probably purchase a subcompact. I would like to purchase full size.

The BG was the only pistol I ever owned where I had to push the magazine release in, to insert a magazine. I sold it without shooting it. Every now and then S&W puts out junk, this BG is one of those times.
