I have a stupid question, but I will explain.
I called the local shop and explained that I wanted a S&W M&P 22 compact Pt# 108390 , they said they did not have it but could order it if I came up and paid for it. Ok, 2 hours later I go to shop and tell them I am there to order that S&W Pt# 108390
He looks on his computer and says.....I just ordered 2 of the suppressor ready versions Pt#10199. Now considering I JUST CALLED 2 hours ago and requested a Pt#108390 it kinda upset me, especially since I told him I was on my way.. Then he proceeds to tell me he will just order the barrel sleeve and switch out the threaded adapter for the thread protector.....Now I know this is kinda petty, but I dont let ANYBODY wrench on any of my stuff so I kindly replied...No sir, I want a Pt# 108390.....He then gets snooty and asks me why....well quite frankly if I wanted something someone had been handling, dry firing, wrenching on, etc....I would have went to the other shop 1/2 mile away that had one on the shelf that had been handled as mentioned. Nor do I have any plans of ever owning a can, so there is no need for anybody tinkering with this other than S&W building it, and me keeping it clean..
So he reluctantly "agrees" and takes my payment and tells me it will be in Wednesday. I am new to this shop and really dont get a good vibe from these fellas, or maybe they just dont get me and how I do all of my own work.
I really dont trust them to follow my request, and I want to confirm if the box or any of the paperwork included with the packaging reflects the S&W Part# on it.
Bottom line is I want to confirm I am picking up a brand new, unmolested, 108390 in a brand spankin new box from S&W with that new car smell.
Thank You, and thanks for having me!
