i've been told to avoid Blazer Brass (can use their Speer Lawman line) and Fed Champ (can use their American Eagle) for mine. I have been using Herters and Remington UMC in my PC Shield. Now at 850+ rounds with zero issues in mine.
There's a couple other threads on here for the PC Shields with posts on ammo as well that may have additional info for ya

Not sure why. I use everything under the sun. Have Blazer brass stacked in the thousands and been shooting them for a while now. One reason I can think of is with ported barrels some gas escapes through the ports and MAY not have enough energy to cycle the slide.

I have read that shooting lead bullets (not jacketed) may produce "shaving" on the bullets and fouling of the ports. Makes some sense, but I don't know if that is correct.

The cheap blazer and federal have a different way of doing the jacket, and parts can shave off and expel through the ports. I've shot a few thousand rounds with no issues, before I heard about it. I have since stopped using those to be safest.

fyi from the Blazer rep when i asked him on why i cant use that ammo:
The bullet is a plated bullet. The plating on the bullet is thin. Some of the ported barrels had issues with shaving the copper plating from the lead core and spraying back onto the shooter. It is safety warning to prevent injuries from ported barrels.
so it could be nothing more than a legal cya need for those suppliers or it could be legit (speaking on our PC's barrels/porting); it doesnt really bother me as i have no problem using Rem and Herters for the range anyway.

I shot hundreds of rounds of all brands of ammo through my PC Shield before knowing there was any potential issue with some brands. I haven't had any issue with Blazer Brass. The warnings from ammo companies all seem to read "some barrels" without any further information on particular guns or models.
IMHO, without a shred of evidence to back up my statement, I believe that the Shield barrel lengths may not be sufficient to "peel away" the copper plating as other pistols with longer barrels may have been proven to do. Thus, the ammo warnings are CYA from the legal team.

that was my guess as well; since it is potentially possible that "some" Blazer ran thru my PC before i too read the warnings and I had no issues. Its just not a big deal for me to heed said warnings now. But i'm sure if an ammo manu has not tested their round in each specific ported gun, its easier to make a blanket statement over saying "ok in this brand, but not ok in this one" and so on

I shot thousands of rounds of the Blazer and the federal, in my PC Shield and my ported 9L before I heard about this and found the warning on the box. Never had an issue. Once I found out about this, I haven't shot it since.
It may be a CYA, for the manufacturers but for a few pennies a shot, I think it's worth it, to be safe for myself and those around me.
