2.0 Apex trigger upgrade available
Just received a subscribed email blast from Apex announcing availability of a trigger upgrade for the M&P 2.0. 5.7.17. Don't see it on their website yet.
Many may feel the improved factory trigger does not need an upgrade. However, I'll bet Apex knows how to improve it. I guess I'm a trigger snob--I will try Apex on reputation alone.
I don't have a 2.0 so this announcement is for the rest of you.
Here is how Apex changed the 1.0 trigger pull:

Seems a little steep for a 1/2 pound to 1 pound improvement, especially for duty needs. But I'd be interested in the poly trigger alone, if available as they were in the past for earlier version m&ps.

There's a lot more to an Apex trigger setup than simply pull weight reduction. Typically: different take up, different engagement point, shorter pull, less over-travel, shorter/better reset.

I have used the Apex dcaek in 6 of my m&ps, and 4 poly triggers, so I'm familiar and have been very satisfied to date. Just not sure about the cost / benefit of the whole kit in the 2.0 yet. Will be curios to hear opinions from others after it's been tested for a while.

Well this post got my curiosity going...
I just replaced the trigger on my .40 FDE M2.0 about a week ago. I only ordered the $40 polymer trigger. I like these much more than the original factory triggers. It is the same polymer trigger I have installed on my 40c. It fit just fine. And with this new 2.0 I currently don't feel I need any of the other Apex parts.
The new Apex M2.0 "Action Enhancement Polymer Trigger & Duty/Carry Kit for M&P M2.0 (and M&P 45)", Includes both the polymer trigger and the Apex Tactical Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit (AEK) for about $120. Thats pretty much what these complete kits have been going for years.
You can still order individual components as needed.
The kits pretty much give you everything and saves you a few bucks!

AZ115: Did adding the Apex polymer trigger change your 2.0 trigger pull in any noticeable way other than the shape of the face of the trigger?

Not really, but that's how I want it. And in my opinion changing out the trigger makes a huge dffrence to how the M&P's trigger feels, even if theres little or no change to the pull weight.
And, Acording to Apex the polymer trigger expected results are as follows.
quote:
Reduces trigger pre-travel and over-travel by approximately 20%.
– Smooths trigger face helps the shooter to place their finger on the center line of the trigger.
– Center mounted pivoting safety maintains factory safety values.
Their expected results are exactly what I'm getting. I can really feel the pre-travel and over-travel changes. The smooth trigger face is also a big plus for me.

Did you have any issues running the provided apex sear spring? I put my aek trigger in tonight and with the factory spring it runs great. I tried running the stiffer sear spring provided and had A dead trigger unless I really pulled through. With no loop,on the new trigger bar I couldn't adjust it. So I'm running the factory spring.

I was looking on their site and didn't just see the trigger itself but the whole kit.

I fondled one of the 2.0s the other day at my LGS. I can't see where the trigger needs any improvement, myself.

Phish they have it it's the aek polymer trigger. I have one on my 2.0 5in 9mm it's pretty sweet. I just put it in last night I ran 300 rds through it today and have to say I'm loving it. Slightly less over travel deffinate change in the reset it's A posative click both heard and felt. Pre travel is the same however once in the wall it's solid to A clean break.

I just installed the polymer shoe only 100-025 and there 2 dot sear 100-063. With those two parts I used the factory spring for the trigger and for the sear i used there heavier spring so if I went back with the stock sear spring what results would I get ? I still feel I have a lot of take up travel after installing the trigger.

Hi RM20292- I ordered APEX's competition spring kit, their hard sear, and their polymer trigger. I had questions so emailed APEX. The trigger and spring kit each had a sear spring in the packaging. APEX replied to me to use the sear spring in the competition spring kit if I wanted a slightly lighter trigger pull weight. That using the sear spring that came with the trigger would result in a slightly heavier trigger pull weight. Heavier than what, I do not know. Heavier than the sear spring in the spring kit, yes. Heavier than the stock sear spring- I do not know, but my guess would be yes.
I got a great detailed, informative reply from APEX's customer service when I contacted them. In fact I had answers to my questions in a reply that came about 8 hours after I contacted them with my email.
(edit)- I would reco contacting them.
Good luck, lg
