I have used the Talon grips, on my Shield, Glock 43 and a Glock 19, and love them. I would go with the less textured version because the sandpaper one is pretty rough against the skin/clothes.
The main complaint with them is that they don't stick like they should at times but I have never had that issue with mine.

Totally agree, I have the rubberized Talon grips on all of my polymer frame guns, (Shield, Glocks and Kahrs) they are great. The don't add thickness and I always use a heat gun to help seat the grips. I have never had a problem with them not sticking or coming loose.

Using the Hogue beaver tail on my PC Shield which is my daily carry gun and have been extremely happy. It hasn't moved or slid at all on the grip which isn't surprising seeing as how tight it was going on.

I have Pachmeier on my colt 45 officers model which I like. But on my 686 Classic Hunter a hogue is awesome. I just bought the hogue for my Ruger lcp. Makes it a lot better to shoot, for me anyway. I have never tried talon.

I have experienced both.
Neither improve upon the factory grip. It is great the way it is, on the 9/40.
Now, the 45 ........... it is excessively "agggressive". Old news I know.
The 45 can be improved.
Easiest thing is to lightly sand the offending area's with 600 W/D.
This simply tames the "sharpness" of it.
Perfect! No longer a Cheese Grater on the hip, just perfect.
The 9/40 variants need nothing but shot.

I just ordered a set of Talons this morning and I'm confused. Looking at the reviews and product questions, there are comments about "old style" (seam in the rear of the grip), and "new style" (seam in the front). Anybody know about this? Is one "better" than the other?

The new style will have the seams overlap at the front of the grip. I cut mine to match the groove of the shield instead of it overlapping which I think is how they should have designed them in the first place.

I have the rubber style Talon Grips on all of my polymer frame guns. My 1911s are another story but the Talon Grips are excellent on my polymer guns.

Have Talons on all but the Shield. Removed the Talon and added the Hogue HandAll It for the extra girth on the grip. The grip was just a tad bit to slim for my hand. I give them both 5 Stars however.

Only had my shield about 4 weeks , but installed Talon grips , absolutely awesome , for $2 more , i suggest you get the extended mag grip as well , this eliminates the problem with the extended round magazine extra piece ridding up the magazine ..

Also eliminates being able to disassemble the mags. I ended up cutting them so I can disassemble the mags, but now they can ride up again.

Funny that you mention that. I went to the extra expense for the kit with the pieces for 2 extended (8 rnd.) mags, so that I could eliminate the issue with the "filler" piece.
As I was finishing the first one up with the hair dryer, and seeing how good it looked, it dawned on me that the mags then couldn't be disassembled without cutting it.
I still have the second one in the package.

I just took my Dremel to the finger bump. Didn't like it at all.
While on the Dremel kick, I removed the "finger hook" on the
front of the trigger guard with a Dremel too. I never use a grip
requiring that hook and prefer the looks of a round trigger guard.

Received my Talon grips today and put them on. They are perfect for my needs. It still has a good grip but my skin isn't getting tore up wearing it.

I also had Pachmayr grips and they started to slid down over time which stops you from inserting a magazine, so I took them off. But, I don't like the stock grip at all. I am considering Hogue, Talon, or stippling.

Talons are great, but wouldn't do me any good, as I like the factory texture, but am looking for added thickness.
If I don't like it, I'll stay factory, with a $10 lesson learned.

I have Hogues beaver tail on my S9 and G42 absolutely love it, it ads some extra thickness that allows me keep the gun in control all the time, the rubber texture is nice and smooth. Ordered one for my S45 too.
