Exclamation .40 to 9mm conversion barrel

I have a M&P pro series not C.O.R.E. in 40cal. Besides buying one of these.

KKM | L/Pro 40S&W to 9MM (5.01)

Do i need to swap out the mags too to 9mm ones and if i do will the 9mm ones fit in the 40 frame?

yup you need 9mm mags, and yes they will fit on the frame since it is the same for 9/40

Thank you. As much as i wanted to buy a whole new pistol. I think this is the most economical way to shoot both.

You may want to consider a StormLake barrel from Optics Planet, they are cheaper, and the three I have work just fine.

If inexpensive is what you're after, check Midway for the M&P 9mm stock barrel. Mine in 9mm cost $69.00, and worked perfectly in my M&P. You will also need a 9mm magazine, and the stock one fits the .40 frame.

My Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel came today. Put a box through it in the backyard on steel and it was lights out. I'll rest it and shoot paper to check the POI, but I could hit a 3" spinner target from 15 yards as effectively as I can any of my other 9mms so its going to be pretty close most likely.

As far as using a stock 9mm barrel, I read up on this for a while and just could not get myself to do it. The lockup part of the barrel is not as thick from stock 9mm to stock .40. The conversion barrel is thicker in this part to where it fills up that gap. I've seen people on forums using them, but for what I'd save between them, I chose to just go with the actual conversion. Zero problems in my Storm Lake .357 and 9mm barrels, and no more regrets about buying the FS 40 nowdays. Its just a 3 in 1.

I shot it yesterday off of a bag from maybe 10yds. I have a lower front sight installed now on my gun because .40 and .357 Sig were both hitting low for me. Results - both 165gr .40cal and .357 Sig were dead on. The 9mm with 115 gr was about an inch high. 147gr 9mm was about 2.5" high, but the same held true from my PPQ as well for the bullet weight change so acceptable. Just info to relay. I can deal with one hitting a bit high, but I cannot stand one hitting low at all.
