I'd be excited if they offered a .357 SIG barrel for it

Why buy a special match grade barrel for a Shield? They aren't meant to be match grade pistols and will never compete with a longer barrel pistol.

True Precision is also making barrels for the Shield (including threaded and 40-9 barrels). Saw them on instagram.

Thanks. We have 9mm Threaded/Dimpled, 9mm dimpled/non-threaded, and purpose built 40-9 conversion barrels in stock (not just a loose 9mm barrel thrown into a .40).

Yeah not sure why anyone would put a match grade barrel in a shield? Seems to be a waste of money unless it's just about the bling factor which is the only thing I can come up with. Wouldn't put a can on a shield either but to each there own I guess...

I can understand the reasoning for some people. We've seen it appeal to those who not only want a barrel that noticeably outshoots the factory, but looks good doing it.

I ask the same thing every time I see one of these threads. They try to turn a shield into a $5000 bullseye 1911. It is like the kids who put a loud muffler, $4000 tires/rims, and a $3000 stereo on a 1995 Honda. Makes me laugh.

Well, a 9mm conversion barrel for a .40 Shield is something folks have asked for for a while. Now, if it costs nearly as much as another pistol, it's usefulness would be questionable.

Indeed....put a $229.00 barrel in a $390.00 Shield to defend yourself inside a range of 5 to 20 yards......

Ok, I looked and .40 to 9mm conversion barrel is $209. And that's probably a very fair price considering what goes into making a barrel. I haven't checked the market in used Shields, but new ones can be had for around $330. Probably you can find a used one in good shape for $300 or less. You can probably figure where this is leading. You need a 9mm magazine or two to go with the barrel. I know some say that you can use the .40 mag, any maybe so for RANGE duty. But not for carry, at least
I wouldn't. Add another $60-70 or so. I have a .40 Shield that I'd like to have a conversation barrel for. However, I doubt I'll be a customer for one of these.

Well one reason a person might use a suppressor on a shield would be for practice in a noise intolerant neighborhood. ie, in my neighborhood, I can pop off a few rounds unsuppressed and all is well. But, if I want to fire off multiple magazines, the neighbors get antsy. I can suppress my guns and the noise hardly ruffles any feathers.

Before I get any comments about shooting in the burbs, note that I've had a safe range on my 5 acres for 30 years. My next door neighbor works nights, so out of courtesy to him I only shoot suppressed.

My Mom is in her early 70's. She has small hands and cannot handle anything larger than a Shield 9mm but she could not rack it and had a little difficulty with the muzzle flip. A slide plate mounted racker solved problem number one and a threaded barrel with an add on comp will solve problem number two. Just because you don't see the need for it does not mean a need does not exist. I don't see a need for the .40 S&W or the color purple, but that's just me.

There's a good reason why you buy a long match barrel for a Shield. Mounting a comp on most pistols makes them too long for practical use. The solution? You mount the comp on a gun that has a short slide. You know, like a Shield. Shield's also accept standard length magazines. And, there's a spacer available that slides over full length mags to fill the space between the bottom of the grip and floor plate. Samson also makes an excellent mag funnel for the grip. BTW... What's wrong with making any gun more accurate?
