Won't work ... You have to include your sales receipt dated today or later

Yea but what was the shipping cost? [edit] They charge $16 for shipping which makes them a few dollars more. The link I posted is free shipping.

It could also be read as M&P Shield 45 is one model, M&P Shield 40 is another model. Tried calling the number but probably too late as I didn't get an answer.
Offer limited to one rebate per each NEW model M&P Shield® Pistol, M&P® Bodyguard® 380 Pistol, or Smith & Wesson® SD™ or SDVE™ Pistol purchased between April 1,
2017 and June 30, 2017.

Good catch. It reads like one rebate per Shield, Bodyguard, and SDVE to me. I brought 3 Shields, so to be safe, I'm not going to put the rebates all in my name. The "Shield" is one model which encompasses the 9mm, 40s&w, and 45acp, the Bodyguard is another model, and the SDVE is the last. The text of the rebate reads as if it's good only on one of each...

I bought three 9mm today and will submit 3 rebates. There's a place for the serial number on the form. One rebate per gun. It doesn't say person, it's per new gun. I purchased mine through Kentucky Gun Company with free shipping. Price is $325 before rebate and $250 after with a free extra mag for a total of 3. Sportsman Superstore is $240 after rebates. Free shipping no CC fee bit no extra mags.

What's confusing is why would they include the word "model?"

That makes it sound like the rebate is limited to ONLY one NEW Shield, Bodyguard, or SDVE...

To me it says all of these models have rebate per each gun you buy, no matter the model. Offer limited to one rebate per each modelM&P Shield® Pistol, M&P® Bodyguard® 380 Pistol, or Smith & Wesson® SD™ or SDVE™ Pistol . If you buy two SD's then one rebate per each one, three 9mm then 3 rebates per each model on Shield 9mm. Key words-. Offer limited to one rebate per each NEW model/gun purchased. Remember they're try to move a lot of guns out from obvious overstock. Rebates on each purchase will get that done.

The wording has me confused and concerned as well. I ordered a .40 and a 9.
I am hoping I can get both rebates. I know I can put one in my wife's name, she already carries a Shield, but the receipt is going to list both guns with my name.
I hope there is some clarification on this from S&W soon.

And the wording depends on where you read. From the online rebate form:
"Purchase any NEW M&P SHIELD® pistol, M&P® BODYGUARD®380 pistol, or S&W® SD™ or SDVE™ pistol and receive a mail-in rebate.
Offer valid April 1 - June 30, 2017"
Rebates | Smith & Wesson
No use of the word "model" there

So? They still have very competitive pricing and good/quick service. Right now a Shield 9mm is $323 shipped from them. As far as I can tell, that makes them the second cheapest in stock 9mm Shield online right now, by all of $3 more over a place I hadn't heard of until today

Yes but on the page you refer to there is a "Download the Mail in Rebate form button" On the form the following
Offer limited to one rebate per each NEW model M&P Shield® Pistol, M&P® Bodyguard® 380 Pistol, or Smith & Wesson® SDTM or SDVETM Pistol purchased between April 1, 2017 and June 30, 2017. No substitutions. Follow Steps 1 – 3 (above) to complete and submit rebate coupon. Rebate coupon must be postmarked by July 31, 2017. Please allow 8 – 10 weeks for fulfillment of valid rebate requests. Offer valid only in the United States of America and only for those persons who are legally able to own and possess firearms. Good for actual purchases by end users; excludes resellers and distributors of firearms, and any groups, organizations, businesses, or government agencies. Rebate checks will be issued in U.S. Dollars and will be mailed to qualifying end-user purchasers in the U.S. Smith & Wesson is not responsible for late, lost, mutilated or misdirected mail. All counterfeit, unauthorized duplicates, or invalid coupons (including incomplete, inaccurate or illegible coupons and/or required sales receipt) will be automatically rejected. Fraudulent submissions could result in prosecution under the U.S. Mail Fraud Statutes (18 USC, Sections 1341-1342). Void where prohibited by law, subject to tax, or otherwise restricted. Smith & Wesson reserves the right to discontinue or change this promotion at any time. OFFER CANNOT BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER SMITH & WESSON PROMOTION OR DISCOUNT.

That's why I said it depends on where you read...
If you are going to submit the form online instead of mailing it in, you wouldn't even have to read the word "model" and get all confused about it

Someone should call CS tomorrow and ask, though you may get a different answer depending on who you get on the phone.

I called Friday and asked the CSR who was very rude. She acted like I was asking a dumb question. When I asked if a 9mm and a 45 where two different models and she said I could get one rebate each.

I woulda told her the rebate offer is confusing and appears to be written by a 10yo.
Just kidding.

Offer limited to one rebate per each NEW model.
I read this as offer limited to one rebate per each new weapon purchased so in my mind each purchase is of a new model. So buy 5 shields 45 you qualify for 5 rebates. Need comments from attorneys or someone who spent the night at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I purchased my 3 Shields from Kentucky Gun Company. They have free shipping but a 3% up charge for Credit Card. So with the cheapest offer I've found with free shipping and no up charge, I'm paying $25 per gun more but Kentucky Gun Company is adding an extra factory magazine (according to their Facebook video) which is a $25 item so it came out the same as the cheapest I found. Plus they're good folks to deal with and actually answer the phone when you call them.

I replied to this question on another thread, so there are at least 3 of us that didn't get an email confirmation.

Thanks for your response Welshman. I got a message on the webpage saying it was being processed, I should have saved that in case it had a confirmation # or something. Oh well, maybe I will try to enter a rebate for the same gun again and see whether it says I've already done so.

Where on the website?
I just read, on another forum, that the rebates were being processed by a third party - Milano Promotional Services, and they weren't sending email confirmations, but if one checks Milano Online Rebate Inquiry (I don't have a link), it will tell you the rebate is "being processed".

I just meant that after I submitted my rebate on smith-Wesson.com/rebates, the webpage said that it is being processed.

Couldn't pass up the rebate.
I got the email from PSA about the rebate and 9mm shields on sale. I said no and deleted the email. Next day 40s&w shields on sale. Put one in the cart and let it sit there a while. They sold out. Good I had beat the temptation to buy. Next day the 45 shield w/o safety was on sale. Did the same thing as with the 40. We went out to eat and they sold out. Ahhhh I resisted. Next day I was setting at the computer with my wife looking at flooring for the house. Checked my email and there the 45 shield was again in stock. My wife looked and said buy it. In 2 seconds that gun was paid for and now I'm waiting for it to ship to the Greenville store. That goes to show you a man can stand up to the pressure but when the wife tells you to do it you had better do it (before she changes her mind).
45 Shield on the way.

I gave in to the urge and bought a 9MM Shield yesterday. The price was just too good. $305 after rebate. Won't really fit a niche since I either carry a Model 60, a Ruger LC9-S, or a Bodyguard .380. Just another gun to shoot at the range and just have. I feel a bit guilty about the purchase, but my kids ain't gonna go hungry and in the end 300 bucks isn't anything to worry about. If the SD9 had a manual safety I would have went with that one. Plan to shoot the Shield tomorrow.

When you hit "submit" the page says "Thank You, you will receive your rebate in 8-10 weeks"
There ya go. (it might've said 8-12)
If you NEED absolute positive confirmation then print out the paper copy and send it in with Certified mail, signature required.

Tried but denied!!
I saw the rebate coupon in the store when I went to pick up my Shield on April 6 after the 10-day wait here in CA. I bought it 2 weeks before the rebate started, so I called them about it. No luck with the rebate on my end..

I was driving home today and actually heard an advertisement over the radio for S&W Shields and the rebate. First time that I ever heard a gun commercial over the regular radio like that... S&W is really trying to push these guns out.

Snagged the Shield 45 from brownells last night with their sale/coupon combo. Will be $236 OTD after transfer fee and rebate.
Didn't need another gun but that's less than half what my friend paid only a year ago at a local shop. If I don't like it I will have no problem making a few bucks on the deal

Amazing.
Guess I got the "Big Zingaroo" by buying mine just 19 days before the start of this thread.

What part of the world?
Im in central/north Texas and there is a LGS here called CrazyGunDealer. He blasts his commercials every weekend with a special gun du'jor. It has been the 399 AR's and the SCCY 9's but he did a Shield commercial this last weekend.
Several of the large indoor gun ranges (DFW) run ads on talk radio all week.
@TTSH....sorry bro! Thought about that as I was considering the purchase, that there were gonna be some hurt feelins over the last 30 days. I sympathize bud!

Well right now is not the time to buy the guns/ammo you can't live without at retail price.
Right now is the time to buy the things you somewhat want at amazing deals that won't happen again. The hordes of deals out there is astonishing and should improve over the next couple months. If nothing else you can sell them when the prices stabilize
Those guns you really want will be around at least a few years at that normal retail price and can wait

Thats no lie.
I had told myself I would pick up a Shield9 when they hit that 299 pricepoint. I actually missed a deal about 6 months ago. Dollar short/day late
I had no idea I was going to find them on an unreal sale for 225 (post/R) so much so that I emailed Whittakers and the owner emailed me back. Good to go.
I only wanted the 9 but it would have been silly not to pick up his/hers 45's at the same time, right?
Hope these silly prices settle down or my CC is in for a hurtin!

Thanks. Yeah, I think all of us who bought in March pre-rebate leaks (and probably January & February too) feel we got the Big S&W Zingaroo. Can't blame the dealers. I don't think they knew. Only have myself to blame for buying more gosh-darn plastic, something an "all-metal" kind of guy like me should not be doing... and I knew that. Shame on me. This was an expensive and very embarrassing "lesson learned" that I'll not soon forget.

Well, respectfully, yes and no. I think I get what you're saying and for some it may make sense. The problem is that I am hideously old, retired, dirt poor and only have three "good years" left before all collecting/accumulating must come to an abrupt end. I don't have the time left to focus on cheap plastic bargain guns just because of rebates and crazy low sale prices. I need to focus on my bucket list guns... and not a single one of them has, or will ever have, a rebate on them.
The Shield .45 was a mistake for me ( for more reasons than just the rebate) which I will work hard to not repeat. I have already purged any and all remaining plastic guns from my 2017 Possibilities List. The only guns I'm going to buy from now on are all-metal guns. No more getting the Big Zingaroo.

If you can pick up a shield 45 for $236 and sell it locally for even $350, that's money you just made to put towards your want list.
I do this all the time. Purchased two 1,260 round spam cans of 7.62x25 for $260 total a couple months ago. Sold one can for $200 cash AND a 440rd can of 7.62x54. I basically got a lot of free ammo.
That's how I accumulate on a limited budget

LOL!!!! That's what I call a good investment.
Technically, I did make a little money selling off some .22 LR out of my stash at the height of the .22 LR shortage a while back, but the "profit" barely covered my gasoline cost to deliver it.
With only one possible exception, I have never had a plastic gun I bought appreciate in value. All-metal guns... yes. Plastic guns... mostly just losses. Some little losses, many big losses.
You'd think I would have learned by now, but I saw the Shield .45 and I figured "What the heck"? Now, the good wife won't let me forget what an old fool I was...

I own numerous polymer handguns and I would make money on all of them if I sold them today. $290 Glock 17 with four mags, holster, and 100 rounds of 9mm? Yep money could easily be made and that's one example. Buy when the price is low not when you feel the itch to have to have it

Wow!!! You are a much better investor than I am. My motto is "Buy high, Sell low"... or at least that's how it usually works for me with plastic.
