I have two LGSs close to me. One has a very large selection of used firearms, the other has the best deals in the state on new items. The latter has been selling the Shield 9 for $400 for the longest time, and I've been on the fence. Back and forth- I'm a revolver guy, but the reviews were great on the Shield- I'm limited to 10 round mags, so this fits that bill, and is very concealable...But I love old stuff, and this isn't that- it may one day be a neo-classic, based on the volume of sales they have had. But it's not as classic as, say, a Hi Power (but I can't have the standard mags here)...
Just a glimpse into my train of thought...I open my email from that LGS and they have a sale- $365, then the rebate brought it to under $300. No brainer.
There were a lot of customers there for the deals last week. To top it off, they had a "Goodie Bag," which was a small Plano ammo container, with a S&W Branded 7 Round spare mag, 50 Rounds of Blazer, 20 Rounds of Colt Defensive ammo, and a silicone wipe...for $29.99. I snagged 2.
Any idea how long the rebate process takes?

8-10 Weeks according to the "thank you" prompt when you submit your rebate.
Two thumbs up on the goodie boxes!

Purchased wifes shield on 3/30/2017. Went back and bought me one on 4/5/2017. LGS gave me 2 rebate coupons so I turned in one for the wifes pistol, I figure all they can do is say no since it was bought 2 days before rebate date, but won't know unless I try. 369 ea. + tax before rebate.

I actually ordered mine on 3/31, after I took possession of the gun, they (SOS) sent me a new invoice with 4/1 on it. Maybe they will do that for you too.

Already have a Shield, and no need for another, so the rebate won't impact me.

Oh contraire !!!!! What if it is stolen, you need to put it in the shop for upgrade or repair....or your wife takes it for herself.....You can't have just one....always need a spare just in case......

I just purchase a 45 shield yesterday. My lgs sells them for full msrp on there shields. I like to buy locally but I can go five minutes down the road to academy or 30 mins to a basspro or cabelas. I didn't get a good as deal as a lot of you on here but I ended up buying mine at academy sports. There price was 439.99 for the 45 but they price Mach with all the big box stores and local stores online prices or inshore prices just present ad. So I did cabelas had them listed for 394.99 so I showed them at academy and the price matched plus 5% off and got it for 375.45 so I don't think I done bad to get it same day and in my my area plus got 75.00 rebate which will put it at 300.00 so if any of you have an academy sports close by you can get price match plus 5% off there. Now can't wait to shoot it. I had a shield in 9mm after we bought my wife one in 9mm when they first came out. Theregreat shooting guns but I got an itch to sell mine because I wanted a different compact. And missed it ever since so now I got the 45 version which I have wanted for a while. I had a guy while I was buying mine there he was shopping with his wife and said to me. You don't want a shield. (They were looking at a very cheap and extra small made pistol for her.) I said why not well there triggers are awful and there unreliable too. I said have you owned one he said no. I said well I have owned two and they are great guns and the triggers aren't bad and the more you shoot the better it gets. I said to them you may want to see how the shield fits in her hand. He says there too high in price. I said there hard to beat for the money plus if you want a reliable gun for protection you can't put price on that. Anyway they stormed off. Lol
