Where is the best price on the Shield (with rebate and shipping) right now?
I'm thinking the buying frenzy may have died down.
Some places are out of stock. I saw Whittakers had ALL models (45 included) for $299 + $15 shipping for a while. I probably should have bought one of those.
Who has the best prices going now?

I've got the 9, but have been thinking about picking up a 45. Interested in the best price on all calibers though; have been telling people about the rebate who might want a 9, 40 or 45.

1) Are people not buying the .40 Shield or are they just not advertised as often?
2) Is S&W offering rebate because of overstock or is a Ver 2.0 coming out?

That's a good question

Those are some good questions wish I knew the answers for sure.
I think the 40 is falling out of favor.
And the Tauras PT111 G2 with a price of $240 at the LGS is causing some concern with slowing gun sales.

Probably whittaker has the best price. I got lucky to get mine (shield 45) for $315 shipped, since then the price went up a bit, but still good deal.

Sportsman's Outdoor Super Store has been selling the 9mm for $315 and the 45 for $349 shipped, before the rebate. They go in and out of stock during the day on the 45. I think they are rationing.

Grabagun has it for $339 ($7.99 S&H)... $347... my friends and I have purchased many, many firearms from them with no issues and quick shipping times... I just bought my first revolver from them last month (686 Plus 4").

Everyone hates the 40. My first pistol was a 40, ran into a military dude breaking in his 40 Shield at the range yesterday, he let me shoot some rounds through it-- it wasn't any different from my Sig 40.
I'm thinking of upgrading my stock Shield 9 for a PC version... but since the 9 is out of stock, I'm considering the 40 PC and getting a 9 barrel.

Do a search on slickguns. You will get the info you need. It has saved me money, and all the vendors were good. Bob

I just got mine in 9mm delivered today from Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo... promptly ran a few hundred rounds through it to break it in! Couldn't be happier!
9mm & .40 are $319.99 shipped, .45 $369.99... they also have performance center's anywhere from $389.99 to $499.

I bought a .45 from Palmetto on the 5th for $349 shipped. Still waiting for it to show up at my transferring dealer. You can get good deals from Palmetto but don't expect Amazon like updates on your order. After 10 days mine still says processing, but in the detail says shipped. No tracking number and no response to an update request after 3 days.

I got in quick on the deal at Whittaker and got my Shield 45 for $299. After shipping, transfer, etc and add in the rebate I'll be in it for about $290. I wasn't even going to get one but for that price I figured why not.
Going to be taking her out today to put the first rounds through.

Palmetto State Armory and Sportsmans's Outdoor Super Store are about as cheap as I've seen them $319.99 with free shipping.

Possible deal: Gander Mountain online for .45 (w/Safety). It is currently marked down to $374.99. Use code APRIL15 for 15% off to get it to $318.74. They have free shipping this week so add tax (& transfer fee at your own FFL) to get total cost. For me, if I picked it up at Gander, it would be $341.05. After rebate, $266.05.
ETA: I convinced myself to order another one but when I looked at my GM order file tonight, it says "Item cancelled" and my card was not charged.
ETA: Yep - got the cancellation notice this morning. Oh well... not like I really needed a 3rd one.

.40 is so much more snappy than the 9mm. If you want more power than the 9 then get the 45, which actually is pretty nice to shoot.

I looked at the Shield and PC Shield 45 yesterday. I just can't do the size increase of the 45 to carry it. (I'm short, 5'6" frame).
I've shot 40 for years and considered getting rid of my first pistol, a 40, so I shot it today and it told me I shouldn't get rid of it.
If I could find a 9 barrel, I'd get a 40 Shield to do both.
Back to OT though, for those buying online, are your LGS/FFLs charging you tax? The LGS I bought my Shield 9 (which is gonna be my gf's) from says on top of their $30 transfer/FFEL fee, they charge sales tax. Their price when I got the 9 was $35 higher than online prices and the $30 fee would balance out, but they are asking $469 for PC Shields, about $70-80 higher than what I'm seeing online currently.

Another vote for Grab A Gun, and they're selling the LE Shield w/night sights and *3* mags (1x7 & 2x8) for $379 + $8 shipping. Basically $60 more than the base model to get both the night sights and an extra 8rd mag. That's a no-brainer to me (I've ordered 4 of them, all have arrived in less than a week after ordering).

Just bought a FDE model 9mm shield from smga.com smokey mountain guns and ammo for 319.99 shipped. Will be $244 after rebate.
Only place I could find the Flat dark earth models and Smga.com seems to get good reviews.
