.45 vs .40 Shield triggers
With the sales and rebates I recently bought a .40 S&W and .45 ACP Shield. The 45 trigger is obviously better and the pull is least 1# 2 oz less than the 40.
Does anyone know what the actual difference is between these models ? Will a 45 sear fit the 40 and does S&W sell them ?

Buy an Apex sear. They're about $60 and much better than the SW sear.

If you want to improve the trigger on your 40 the apex duty carry kit is the way to go. I have it on my shield 9, 45 and 9c.

The Apex hard steel sear was a great improvement on my 9mm. Should help your .40 too.

The Apex sear for the 9/40 is slightly different than 45. For the 45 it's 100-063.
Personally, I don't have a problem with the stock sear. If you want just polish it up and it smooths out nicely. These are defensive pistols and not target guns.

If you can find a S&W Performance Center sear, that would be better.
I use to get them directly from S&W, but i`m told that they no longer let them out.

it is now the same sear for all shield calibers including the 2.0

Thought I'd learn why the .45 Shield trigger was different and better that the .40. Guess I'll have to call S&W and hope I find someone that knows.

The striker block safety on the S45 is different than the S9/40 that might have something to do with it. Most of the grittiness on the trigger comes from the SB.
