Default Adjusting M&P front sight

New M&P owner here and I finally got my M&P9 out to the range last week and put the first 100rounds through it. My groups were all very respectful at 5,7, & 10 yards. All groups are hitting between 1-2.5 inches however all my shots are hitting left of where I am aiming. After shooting, I noticed that my front sight is pushed to far right and way off center of the Barrel.

So I am wondering if I drift the sight back to center(left) will this help center my groupings. Now I know people are going to say you need more trigger time, but I am not new to shooting or shooting M&Ps for that matter so I am wondering if adjusting the front site will help?

Also is it difficult to move the front site? Will a punch/flat head screwdriver covered with tape and hammer do the trick? Or gunsmith? I don't want to have to send to Smith and Wesson for what seems like something so little and easy to do.

If it obviously offset, I would drift it back to center. Had to do the same with mine. It was very tight.

What did you use to move it back to center? I was thinking about using my bench vice and possibly punch/flat head screwdriver and hammer it back

I secured the slide in my bench vise and and fashioned a drift from a piece of aluminum round stock. I tried Delrin first but it was too soft. It also helped to warm the slide with a heat gun. Of course immediately after this exercise my brother bought a very nice universal sight tool.

S&W M&P dovetails are extremely tight. Best option is a sight pusher. If you don't want to buy one, see if a local range or pistol smith has one and could make the adjustment. All you really need to do is move it back to where it is centered. Trying to do it in a vice with a punch is a bear (unless the sight was centered in the first place but firing caused it to drift right...)

I have the above ^ mentioned sight pusher and with the additional S&W pin set it does an incredible job on the Shield sights. The front sight was much tighter than the rear on mine.
And if you are near my location let me know!
