Default Positive Shield 45 experience

I just received my new .45 Shield about a week ago... Been reading all these threads regarding problems with the .45 Shields and fretting over rather I made the right decision.. First thing I did was clean the Shield thoroughly when I received it.. Then I fully loaded both of the magazines using my Uplula.. I let the magazines set all week and then unloaded them and reloaded them.. There was quite a difference the second time, much easier... Took the .45 Shield to the range today, to verify zero and check the reliability of the new Shield.. I shot 50 rounds of CCI Blazer Brass 230gr. FMJ's and 50 rounds of Speer Gold Dot 230gr. HP'.. The new Shield ate everything I fed it without a hiccup. The last three magazines, two Gold Dots and one Blazer Brass, put all of the shots under 3 inches at 15 yards, at the same point of impact and point of aim. .. I am extremely happy with my .45 Shield and it will be my primary concealed carry weapon.. My Shield 9mm will go back in the safe as a back-up..
Just thought that I would put up a positive post for the .45 Shield...

I've had mine since they first arrived at my LGS. Never had a problem and it's a lot more accurate than my Shields in 9mm were.

Me too. I got one of the first .45 Shields at my lgs. It's been perfect since with around 700 rds or so through it.

Just picked up a 9. Accurate. Nice trigger. Put about 100 rnds of IMI mixed 124 ball and 115 jhp.
Shot it along side my Sig 239 and my 3914NL. Like em all.

My FFL just received mine today from grabagun. Will pick it up tomorrow morning and give it a quick work out. Looking forward to seeing how it performs. Hope to have a positive experience.

I'm really happy with the 45 Shield I picked up a couple days ago. It fits my hand very well and shoots great. Everything from 230 ball to various HP rounds. I've been carrying it and fully trust it to function.

I was hitting soda cans at 15 yards with it easily yesterday I'd say its pretty good.

I have heard and read so many good remarks and reviews on the new Shield 45; I am contemplating a purchase of one from my LGS&R. I plan on renting one to try. I find, "Try before you Buy" is a good way to go! Gun rental on Wed. is only $1.00. for members.

If I can handle the recoil and aggressive stippling of the grip, I will probably get one. I have the Shield in 9mm. and I love the way it shoots.
My membership at my LGS&R is about to end and if I buy a firearm from them I get a renewal! Good for a year. It's like getting a discount on the gun!

You'll probably find the re-coil isn't much more than the 9mm Shield. That's what really surprised me the first time I fired mine. I expected much more re-coil from a smaller 45, compared to my other 45's. In fact, when I first heard about a 45 size Shield, I totally dismissed the idea. I've now owned one since last summer. It hasn't failed with many brands of store bought ammo or reloads. Always fun to shoot at paper targets, colored water bottles, and a bunch of other metal targets we set up in the desert. That's because it's so accurate, for such a small 45.

I'll chime in with mine: 1st range visit today had 100 plated reloads and 100 HST. No malfunctions. HST fed just fine. Happy camper here.
