Default Performance center 9mm

Looking for some feedback, Just purchased a new Shield, PC 9mm. I decided on the performance center model as it was to have refinements in critical areas. I stripped it down, cleaned, ran 150 rounds through it. Pulled it back apart to inspect.
I was disappointed to see how ruff the feed ramp was. Would this be considered normal? I realize the feed ramp is not mentioned in the PC upgrades, but, Even a non PC model should have a better finish than this. ( IMO )
Thoughts?

Default Follow up on ramp

I decided to take some wet / dry to the ramp. Started with 500 then to 1000 and finished with 2000 grit.
The big score on the left was just to deep to fully remove.
I know the whole feed ramp doesn't see contact, but I felt better trying to improve it. Haven't tried firing JHP yet.

I've never seen one that looks that bad. Even my SCCY Is better.

IMHO, that is a typical QC standard at S&W, at least as far as Shields go. As long as tool marks don't affect function, then the gun gets shipped.

Thanks for the feed back, wonder just how much polish they did on the trigger and such. Might require further inspection on my part.

I have two Shields (9mm and .45) neither look anything like that. That would make me crazy.i just took my .45 and checked, literally nothing even close to that. I have polished feed ramps on other pistols in the past, but that looks more like gouges. As long as it cycles, probably no isue but....

That's a great job of polishing. May be the camera angle, but is that chamber skewed left of the ramp?

I was wondering the same thing. IMO I would send it back or at least send S&W a pic and get thier opinion.

Both my PC 9mm shield and standard 9mm shield don't have any marks like that. Very polished on mine.

Default Performance center 9mm

Ugh, that's just horrible! I would have sent it back to S&W and demanded a new barrel. My Shield 45 ramp is nice and smooth. Nice polish job on your part though!

Follow up: S&W sent me a RA number to send it back, will see if they have issues with me doing my own polish.

Shouldn't be an issue if they replace the barrel.

It was no issue when I sent my Cerakoted Shield back for a striker sleeve. In fact they paid shipping both ways and no charge. That convinced me to buy another.........
