Default Shield Performance Center Range Report

Took a couple of guns to the range today, one of them the Shield. I carried the regular Shield for a while then switched to the Glock 43. While I like the size and feel of the Glock, it just doesn't shoot as well as my Shield. I should say, I don't shoot it as well as my Shield. So took the new Performance Center Shield to see if it was any better than the regular Shield.

Firstly the sights are a big improvement over the stock sights and the trigger is slightly better. The porting and recoil didn't really notice much difference. So if I was thinking about buying one or the other, I'd pay the little extra for the Performance Center gun. The sights alone are worth the upgrade. I chose the tritium sights over the fiber optics.

Pictures below are of my first 8 shots at 7 yards. Recoil was very manageable and follow up shots easy to get back on target. I liked the sights very much, and will carry with the extended magazine as I shoot better with the extra grip. Out all my small carry guns, I'm most accurate with the Shield. I've tried more that a few. PPS, G43, P938 and a few other. Shield gets my thumbs up.

Other gun I took was my CZ 75 Compact Pro-Tek. That's my other carry gun when carrying something bigger. That gun I shoot better than any other if handled and shot. Shot Sigs, H&K's etc. This one just suits me the best. Pics below were 32 rounds at 7 yards.

Great write up on the new Shield PC. I have been very temped to pick one up as well especially with the current rebates going on. I can pick up the Shield 40 PC for $319 after rebate. It is hard to pass that up although the Shield 45 for $279 after rebate again, is tempting as well. So many guns and so little time and money.

Oooh .... nice. First PCR I held was the carry of the counter guy at my range. After a long while of me handling it, the counter guy must have wondered if he'd have to pry it out of my hands to get it back. Ordered one that day.

If it had been the custom shop version like yours, he'd really have a chore to get it back.
