Took a couple of guns to the range today, one of them the Shield. I carried the regular Shield for a while then switched to the Glock 43. While I like the size and feel of the Glock, it just doesn't shoot as well as my Shield. I should say, I don't shoot it as well as my Shield. So took the new Performance Center Shield to see if it was any better than the regular Shield.
Firstly the sights are a big improvement over the stock sights and the trigger is slightly better. The porting and recoil didn't really notice much difference. So if I was thinking about buying one or the other, I'd pay the little extra for the Performance Center gun. The sights alone are worth the upgrade. I chose the tritium sights over the fiber optics.
Pictures below are of my first 8 shots at 7 yards. Recoil was very manageable and follow up shots easy to get back on target. I liked the sights very much, and will carry with the extended magazine as I shoot better with the extra grip. Out all my small carry guns, I'm most accurate with the Shield. I've tried more that a few. PPS, G43, P938 and a few other. Shield gets my thumbs up.
Other gun I took was my CZ 75 Compact Pro-Tek. That's my other carry gun when carrying something bigger. That gun I shoot better than any other if handled and shot. Shot Sigs, H&K's etc. This one just suits me the best. Pics below were 32 rounds at 7 yards.
