Shield sear lever issue
A buddy bought a Shield9 the other day and took it to the range yesterday. When he bought it, he cleaned it and had no issues. After shooting, he cleaned it again, but now cannot get the sear deactivation lever to return to it's normal position. I have one also, but have never had this problem. Can anyone shed some light on this situation?

Update. He has the SDL back into postition but was having problems with the slide. He discovered on the left front slide rail on the frame, that the little spring end that is inset in it, just right of the takedown lever, is not in it's little groove and is interfering with slide movement. Looks like it's back to S&W. Sad.

So he went from a problem with the sear deactivation lever to a problem with the takedown lever retaining spring.

A different user recently had the problem that they put the sear lever down too far for the field strip and had a difficult time getting the slide back on, or something. Is that a possibility?

That is what the first post is about, but he managed to get that back in position. Then he discovered the end of the spring hanging out there. He came by my place and compared it to my Shield, and took it back to the dealer and they are shipping it back to S&W. I'm just glad he didn't buy one online and have that problem.
