Smile Second range trip M&P Shield 9mm Trigger comment

Got time today to spend a few hours at the range. Ran 100 rounds Federal 115 grain thru it no problems. Got to try new sights and they are off an inch or so to the left at 10+ yards but the TruGlo are otherwise great. After 100 rounds the Trigger seems to be smoothing out a little more along with the nightly dry fire to smooth it a little also. Probably 4-500 trigger strokes so far. I hate to say it but I'm really getting to like this pistol. Still carrying the Sig 938 but this is getting closer to an every day carry weapon with more firing of it. Zero failures so far of any type so think it is good to go. Great gun, great price and economical to shoot and does not beat you up when shooting it. Slide is still a little stiff but hopefully that will loosen up as the round cound goes up. Keeping it locked back when stored to work on the spring tension some.

I had my shield for a few years and the slide was still stiff after a few thousand rounds. I picked up a stainless steel guide rod and now she is as smooth as butter. For $40ish bucks can't go wrong IMO.

I have always wondered how that works. The only stainless guide rod I have seen advertised says that it "includes the Smith and Wesson outer spring!" Using only one factory spring seems it would be substantially under-powered in comparison to the factory dual-spring system.

Been there done that.

Works great.....if you have strong wrists!

Put one in the wifes Shield9, was hopeful that it would assist with racking the slide. It does.

But when you park some older, tired, arthritic wrists behind it...not so much.

When we put it in the gun went immediatly to a 50% FTL failure rate. When I shot it, it seemed fine. Back to her and back to 50%

Put the OEM unit back in and no issues.

So....there is that
