Default apex trigger problem on 2.0

had my local gunsmith install the aek trigger on my 2.0 and after 50 rounds its dead. nothing happens when you pull the trigger.

any thoughts? I sent apex a pm on facebook and they said to put in their 2.0 sear. I thought it was a drop in trigger

Well it obviously has to go back to the gunsmith.

Triggers are mechanically linked. If nothing happens then the link has come apart somewhere inside.

For it to be Apex's fault the trigger would have to break in half. Odds of that are a gazillion to 1.

Default apex trigger problem on 2.0

Have you tried removing the slide to check the trigger mechanism?

Except the M2.0's don't have a "Trigger Bar Loop".

Sounds like your "gunsmith" omitted that part, it probably is a drop in, if you drop in the required parts.

So, do we have an answer? What does the gunsmith say? What does Apex say?

My most burning question is what led you to put an Apex trigger in the 2.0? How many rounds had you fired to be unhappy with the factory trigger? Just curious, since I am both an M&P and Apex fan, but don't believe in changing things unless I have an issue with stock after a few hundred (or 1000) rounds.

I hated the stock trigger shape and feel. I came from a vp9.

Apex said the preproduction pistol it worked fine. the production ones there were problems.

apex recommended their new 2.0 sear. the gunsmith used the stock sear spring and stretched the trigger bas a few thousands.

Hello Vizsladog,

I am sorry to hear that you had problems attributed to a lack of clear communication on our side. Perhaps I can help.

It is important for people to know that for the M2.0, our AE triggers are best used with our 2 dot sear. While it MAY work with the factory sear, the issue is that depending on the slide to frame vertical tolerance there may not be enough over travel.

Unlike the 1.0, the M2.0 uses what the factory calls a sear release lever to articulate the sear as the trigger is pulled. In essence, it is what I consider to be a true disconnector- an independent part that separates the sear from the trigger bar once the slide moves far enough to the rear. It is a substantial improvement over the 1.0 design in terms of service life and function.

To be clear, there is no problem with the production guns. The M2.0 uses a MIM copy of the Performance Center's sear- this was a way for Smith to provide a very affordable way to improve the trigger pull of the M2.0 across the board. This is indeed a very good thing.

The problem is that the factory sear's cam dimensions are just a little smaller than ours. This isn't an issue with the factory trigger because of where they set their over travel stop. As a result, we removed the option of just purchasing the trigger from our website.

Our 2 dot sear has the cam dimensions that will work with the M2.0.

Sorry for any confusion that has occured, and please PM me. I will be happy to help.

-Randy
