Default 9mm M&P Shield Magazine Problem

Bought my Shield back in March am happy with it so far. Future plans call for a trigger replacement and better sights (I suffer from old eyes and have trouble with the stock sights). Order a couple of 8 round mags from MidwayUSA and had the following problems with them.

Magazine #1 was assembled wrong, spring was inserted backwards and would only load 5 rounds, after taking it apart to see what the problem was and reassembling with the spring in correctly, 8 rounds could be loaded. Problem #1 Solved!

Magazine #2 would only allow 3 rounds to be loaded, so again I disassembled it to find that this magazine had 3 followers in the tube! After reassembly with ONLY 1 follower, it to would accept 8 rounds.

These were S&W magazines not an aftermarket brand. Has anyone else had any magazine problems like these?

Does that mean that 2 poor schmucks got magazines without followers? Might be able to jam a 9th round in that way!

Both mags required repair - unreal! No, the two 8 rounders I bought 4 years ago were perfect. I'd certainly contact S&W to let them know though. Glad you figured them out LOL.

Default That doesn't make me feel good....

What kind of careless dummy can't put a magazine together? That is not a confidence builder.

Bought one in .40 a few months back, just tried loading it yesterday - same problem. Called S&W, they said they know of no problem, but without question are sending me 2 new mags...... they don't want the old ones !!
