I guess I joined the party... Shield .45 on the way!
So I love my Shield 9mm, but with the rebates and all, I couldn't take it anymore and ordered a Shield .45 NTS with factory night sights to go with my Shield 9mm NTS with factory night sights.
Should ship any day now and I can't wait to get to range with it!

Well you will be impressed If you have any objections to the grip the Hogue AllGrip is a nice adder for overcoming the texture and adding a bit of girth.
I will be curious to see your thoughts after you shoot it compared to the 9mm Shield.
Congrats, how can you go wrong with the current offers!

The grip texture on the 45 was one reason why I bought mine. I really like the feel of the grip. Of course I haven't actually carried mine yet so that could change my mind. If I find it too rough for carrying I'll just toss a set of Talon grips on it.

Right now there aren't any talons for it. And I agree the texture is great but it definitely isn't comfortable against skin while edc it.

I can see needing a something between the grip and bare skin for IWB carry. Typically I do anyways on all but the hottest days here in MI.

I'm sure they'll get Talons out for it soon. If not I bet the ones for the 9mm would be close enough.

The texture does rub a bit on the skin. I carry OWB and usually wear a t-shirt then an over shirt. I pulled on a Polo with no t-shirt and it did shine up my love handle. You can knock it down a bit with some sand paper if it really bother you.

Had mine to the range today for the 3d time. I love it, and I too have a Shield 9. They each have their place for carry, depending on weather and clothing. The 9 is slightly smaller, but the 45 shoots very smoothly. I was expecting a tougher recoil, but it is pretty tame.

I added the Hogue All grip to my Shield 45 and even though it was a bear to get on it provides a very nice grip and for me an improved feel.

So what was the price - after rebate? I've been thinking about getting one myself.

I just checked Talon's website and the DO show rubber grips for the Shield 45 in stock. The granulate and rubber-moss versions are currently out of stock.

Wear an undershirt if the texture bothers you. Contrary to popular belief it'll actually keep you cooler and make for more comfy carry

$414 less the $75 rebate so $339 + my FFL transfer fee. Remember this the version with factory night sights...

I swear I was looking just 2 days ago and they weren't available. I just bought them, thanks.
I had given up and bought the tractiongrips after looking so now I have both on the way.

new 45 shield
Shot my new .45 shield today. Along with my 9mm shield. couldn't tell the difference in recoil. I really took a liking to the .45. But trying to find extra mags looks like it going to be difficult. Common theme is "out of stock"

I just bought two on sale at Midway. The sale is over but they still show both in stock.
