Default The Wanderer Returns To The SHIELD!!!

Two years ago, the Shield 9mm was the only EDC for me. Then came my "needing to be modified" poor grip which resulted in my unintentionally hitting the mag release while shooting. This "problem" coupled with a somewhat terminal case of "brand loyalty" led me back the Glock 43. (A pistol I could never shoot as well as the Shield) Then it was on the Walther PPS M2! Superb pistol!

Next thing I knew, a new 9mm Shield with night sights showed up at the LGS where I work. The great feel in the hand, the grip angle, the amazing trigger, the terrific accuracy and the current 75.00 rebate offer, were more than I could resist! So I'm back, and loving it!!

A final note: I firmly believe that the Shield's stock trigger is among the best stock triggers available. Yes, the Performance Center trigger is simply amazing, and yes, the Apex Trigger kit is nice, but for my money, on an EDC pistol, the Shield's stock trigger will do! Thanks Smith & Wesson!

Default I like my Shield...

They are great guns unless you get a defective one, and if they fix it, it when then go for a very long time.

I love them both, and consider each to be an excellent pistol. I will keep the PPS M2 for certain!

Understood. It is unfortunate that many here have had a "bad" Shield.

Overall, I have been blessed with the Shield's I've owned. However, the first one I purchased had a defective RSA. It flew apart the first time out! A new one arrived from Smith in under a week.

I can't imagine how many Shields they are selling, especially with the $75 rebate. As with most manufacturing, an occasional "issue" gun is made. Just like anything else in life, we don't hear much about the "ok" guns, just the "bad" ones. Human nature to accept the good and move on. It's problems that we get hung up on.......
