I love mine it has been a flawless gun, very accurate but the trigger needs some improvement so I went with the apex duty carry on it, and it got better a lot.

Pros: Great carry gun, good size weight and recoil management.
Cons: I buy a lot more 45ACP than I ever thought I would. With the rebate I bought another Shield 45 just to have.

The M&P 45 is the only handgun that comes close to my beloved 1911. With the Apex FSS the trigger is really nice. If you upgrade the slide stop to the newest version, it even has a decent feel to the reset.

I've had mine for a year now. It replaced my full size 1911 government. 10 rounds in the mag. I put a contrasting grip insert in mine. I have the manual safety and factory trigger. After firing about 1000 rounds thru it the trigger feels fine now. No other problems. It eats all my reloads and factory ammo flawlessly.

Love mine. I got one of the police trade-ins from Aim Surplus, they also have extra mags for $15. Works great, oddly it came with a small backstrap and 2 large backstraps. No case or anything (at least with mine). No problem, Smith sent a medium to me no charge.

Default M&P 45

Terrific gun! Feels great in the hand, very reliable and accurate, shoots great. Never had a problem. Mine has the Apex DCAEK and poly trigger. It's a definite keeper!

I'm a 1911 guy when it comes to 45's. That particular M&P gun was my (skeptical) intro into poly framed pistols. Bought it on a Tuesday, thought for sure I'd be trading it within the week after a test run (that surely would affirm my dislike for plastic guns.) To my surprise, I loved it. Ergonomics, reliability, ability to suck up recoil.......In fact, that FS M&P 45 has since replaced my model 66 as the bedroom gun. Yea, it's that reliable!

p.s. I did do a trigger job on it along the way though.

This is a trait common to all M&Ps. They have the lowest height over bore of any hand gun I know. By getting the barrel low like this, it helps the recoil go straight back. The affect of this is a reduction in felt recoil and muzzle flip.

Love these guns.
