Default Head spinning over Shield sights

Sorry for another sights thread folks but my noggin is hurt'in ... my 10 day old MP9 Shield factory sights have to go ...I was ready for the TruGlo TFX but realized I need the rear dots outlined for l low light but not dark shooting ...Ameriglo has the paint/colors combinations I like but for a Shield I only find a U notch rear sight which I have doubts I will like plus have read of guys ditching them because of the U notch ...Trijicon does not offer an orange outline front and outlined rear dots ..again for low light ...what have I missed ...playing with back to TruGlo and trying to toothpick white outlines around the rear sights ...but seems nuts to jury rig brand new goods !$%^&#(&

If its dark enough that you can't pick up the sights then outlining the tritium with paint probably won't do you much good anyways. That's what the tritium is for.

For more precise daytime aiming, simple black sights, uncluttered by rings and colors that make the eye work harder to interpret and align all kinds of stuff, work best for me. A wide rear notch with a serrated rear face to keep it from glaring, and a single tritium vial centered low, basically invisible in day time. The front of the sight is a ledge to help with one handed slide manipulation.

The front sight is a simple serrated post with a tritium vial, again, not outlined so almost invisible in daylight. Just pure rectangle in a notch. Simple.

But in low light, you have two glowing dots, one on top of the other in a figure 8, with your point of impact right on top of that. Simple and fast.

Not quite sure what the issue is. I'm a retired LEO. I've carried a 9mm Shield for years with TruGlo TFX sights. They light up beautifully in the dark. Totally satisfied.

I think keep the factory sights and buy a Crimson Trace Laserguard.

I've been lookin' down the barrel of guns, both short, long and in between for more years than I care to admit. One of the universal truths is you better get ready to see a wide variety of sights. Sometimes ya just have to settle. Unicorns are hard to find. Your proficiency as a shootist is directly proportional with dealing with what you have. Perhaps it's a sign of the times. My best advice is to get a genuine 1911A1 and learn to live with the ****** sights on that gun. Camp Perry shooters can bullseye 50yd targets easily with GI issue sights.

So, don't be so concerned with what color goes where and what kind of dot it has or the nature of the notch. As the leather heads say, adapt and overcome.

I have old eyes. Found green glo paint at wallyworld. $1 Using it on several guns. Works great.

Default OP clarification

I am reading from several different sources that ...at least for these particular users of the TG TFX that there is a period between sunset and dark and dark and dawn where they say they cannot see their sights ...the period where the tritium and ambient light are near equal hence the outlined tritium tubes
For me ....point shooting would be my natural move in those conditions but occasionally this will be in the wife's hands and she is not a reliable point shooter,
I know sights as far as function...my own training for combat is front sight only deal ...being Army, some Marksmanship Unit time, Civilian 2400X shooter and 16 years Sheriff Dept
What I don't know is who all the players are manufacture wise and their various product mixes and and how they function
My eyes are 70 now ...the black sights I have always used are not what these eyes now need between my camper and the restroom in the middle of the night at a middle of no where rest stop
So I will list what I THINK these old and getting older eyes need:

Tritium front vial with orange circle square blade profile (profile from rear)

Tritium rear vials (2) with white circle square rear notch
(one centered rear vial of Tritium may work but have never had the chance to shoot them)
