Question APEX And My M&P 1.0 .40 Caliber

I just recently bought a DPD LE trade in from BUD'S GUNS. I want a better trigger than what's there now, but, there are a few spring kits out there made by APEX and I don't know which one to buy?
I "DON'T" want the kit that will give me a 3.5 lb. trigger. I just want the kit that will get me in the upper 4 lb to 5 lb. range. Is this the kit I need to buy?
Apex Tactical - Smith & Wesson M&P Competition Spring Kit - 9mm .40 S&W .357

Or, is this the kit that I need?

Default APEX And My M&P 1.0 .40 Caliber

I have the FSS flat face on my FS 9 and the trigger pull is at 4.5lb, with the competition springs it will be too light.

The second link is the one you need 100-024

Do you want a different trigger? If you are okay with the M&P trigger itself but want an all around better trigger pull I would recommend the Apex duty/carry action enhancement kit (DCAEK) 100-073.

Details

The spring kit will only change the pull weight but will not improve the feel of the trigger pull.

If you want a different trigger then the 100-024 forward set sear with polymer trigger kit or the 100-067 forward set sear with the aluminum trigger kit is the way to go. Both will give you a short crisp trigger pull almost as good as a 1911.

I have the action enhancement kit in my FS 9 and it is great. I have the forward set sear and aluminum trigger kit in my pro series 40L and it is incredible.

+1 to Jdvoss. I put an duty/carry action enhancement kit on my Shield and it is a very crisp 5 lb pull, and the squishy m&p take up gone. On my M&P 9mm CORE I installed the Competition kit...but must say the difference was much less- did lower trigger pull to about 4.5 lbs, negligibly smoother (I think the Pro Series CORE is pretty good to start). Left the OEM trigger in place so I can use it to compete.

I don't want a different trigger just yet. I want to try the factory trigger with the spring kit that will give me the upper 4-mid 5 lb. trigger.
So, if I install the duty/carry action enhancement kit in my M&P, will my M&P then have a very crisp 5 lb pull? Also, will the mushysquishy typical M&P take up be gone ? And, I need the 100-024 kit (minus the trigger) to achieve what I have stated? Do they make a parts kit minus the trigger? Part #?

The Fss kit comes with the trigger and it works great when all the parts are installed.

If you want to keep the factory trigger your best shot is the duty carry kit it should bring down the trigger pull down by 1-2lb. Most of the grittiness comes from the striker block safety.

I have the FSS on my full size 9 and the trigger pull is 4.5lb, on my 9c and shield9 both have the duty carry kit and the trigger pull on both are very similar between 5-6lb.

If you want a 4.5 trigger pull then the FSS is your best option. It is probably the best of all apex triggers.

Just remember this, if you install the Apex duty carry kit you'll have to keep the original factory trigger return spring in to achieve a 4.5 to 5.0 lb trigger pull. Otherwise your pull weight could exceed 5.5-6.0lbs.

Exactly. And polishing the striker block (under the sight) and the trigger bar loop, you will get a smoother pull. Very worth the small effort.
