That's one reason I was looking at a neoprene band. They don't soak thru as easily and neoprene is soft and comfortable.

Just watched the video but it is not what I'm looking for. I don't want to carry high on my body and in a cross draw position. I'm looking for 3:00 inside the waistband.

Been using belly bands year 'round in Ga. for about 20 years. I've got a lot of holsters, but the belly band lets me carry anywhere, any time. At the end of the day, simply hang it up and let it air out. I'll use the same one for several years. I use it at about 4:00 or appendix, or anywhere I want to. I like choices.

I don't own one yet, but I'm planning to purchase a Crossbreed belly band.

Here is a pretty good video of a guy using it for appendix carry.

Here's a second vote for the Crossbreed belly band. The Kydex is much more secure than the floppy pocket that most belly bands offer. The Velcro also allows one to position the holster for the exact ride height and cant wanted, and the magazine pouch works the same way (I haven't used the magazine pouch as I carry only a J-Frame in this rig). One thing to remember: if you intend to carry low around the hips appendix style as I do or high just under the pecs like a shoulder holster, measure that area, and add an inch or so. I made the mistake of just ordering my waist size, and it's a bit snug around my hips. Fortunately, Crossbreed sells an extension piece for about $4.00, but I should have just measured correctly in the first place.

Also, I wear Fruit of the Loom tank tops underneath my T-shirts in the summer. They are cut fairly long and tapered so they stay tucked in, and are very light, not bulky at all. It makes a belly band or any IWB holster a hundred times more comfortable. And it has the added benefit of keeping a lot of sweat off the gun. I would wear the tank even if I didn't carry because I'm a sweaty Eddie, and I hate sweating through my T-shirt immediately. Moob sweat is not the most attractive thing on a middle-aged man :P

It rides outside of my boxers so it never contacts my skin.
Shield in a smart carry is easy. I use one with my Shield in the summer all the time . Under Cargo shorts or even basketball/workout types of shorts, it's invisible and once you get it into "position" it's very comfortable. I have friends that carry FS 1911's in smart carry.

I use the Belly Band and I love it - I can wear any shorts or shorts as it is not IWB (unless you want) and practically do not print with g43 and can put the gun in any position around the waist, including the cross to draw while driving.

I hope that you don't mind that I am restarting an old thread but what about daltech force? They make some very nice belly band holsters.

I don't mind at all. Maybe someone new will read it too and help them with their search.

As an update, I still haven't bought a belly band, just lazy I guess. I did buy a Ruger LCP II that fits in my pocket for use now. I still am interested in something for my Shield 9 though.

Blue Force Gear makes a great pocket holster for the LCP, it's the thinnest pocket holster you will find.

The one that came with the pistol works fine for me.

Yeah we do - but belts are an old man thing.

I really like the Crossbreed Bellyband/system. It's very comfortable, and super versatile, plus it gives you the option of reholstering. YMMV.

My wife uses the Crossbreed modular belly band with her M&P 9c and Shield. She can conceal it very well and it is comfortable for her.

I took a look at it but I don't want the rigid holster for this use. They are awful proud of them too.

I love BB holsters. But if you order one be sure it has pouches WITH RETAINING STRAPS for spare mags. The first one I ordered didn't have the straps. And the mags do ride up and eventually "out". I bought many IWB , OWB, ankle and shoulder holsters. They are all sitting in a drawer. My favorite is an SCT BB holster. Very comfortable and clocks anywhere. RH or LH, doesn't matter.
