PopUp/PushDraw Holster for SW Shield 9mm
I'm looking for something like
Model 44 & 54 Push Draw Concealment Holsters
but of higher quality. Something that would make Shield sit lower inside pant than a typical kydex holster.

I don't know anything about this holster, but what do you mean by "quality"? According to their website, they have two versions—Cordura Nylon and Leather.

well, basically slightly better reviews from people is what I mean by quality. Also, another complaint is that this holster is very thick.

Hybrid holsters allow you to adjust the height and cant.
I'm not going to be playing with push and pull if my life is in jeopardy

From the linked website: "To draw, you simply push up on the pistols barrel through your pants to expose the grip" Sounds like a good way to take your gun out of battery before it gets in your hand.

So the plan is to make your pistol difficult to draw, and require that your place your hand in front of the barrel while drawing?
What could possibly go wrong?

I guess what I'm asking for is any suggestions on alternative holsters to the one I mentioned. I am well aware that the gun will be less accessible for the benefit of being more concealable. But that is what's needed in my situation.
thanks

Not exactly what you are looking for, but up for consideration:
1) a tuckable holster many styles:: Hybrid, N82-(has comfortable pad), Remora, many others. Ulticlip clip can be used instead of metal clips to further hide holster. All can offer a one handed draw.
2) Hide-it or Cell Pal holster if you want to carry a cell phone. A two handed draw, or can be used one hand like the "push-pull holster you mentioned above.
3) TactiPac, either pouch or Kydex models (I have the cordura model worn at 12:00). Similar is the 3-Speed holster.
I do not like the standard belly band holsters.
Research all on line.

I have a sticky holster that I mounted a utiliclip to, and it works well. Mounting your own clip allows for a deeper carry. You can also contact any number of custom kydex makers who can shift the clip for deep carry.
I know my above comment seems snarky, and it is. Really the intent is to point out how dangerous the push/pull method mentioned seems. Requiring a coordinated action from both hands, under stress w/ a striker fired gun. Plain and simple set up for disaster there.
How about this? Could be just what your looking for

Take a look at the Remora Tuckable holster first. Its totally concealable under a tucked in shirt or you can use it as a IWB (without tucking the shirt) and with or without the clip. Doubles as a pocket holster with a small pistol.
Tuckable Holsters | Remora Concealment Holsters
Good luck.
