Default Came back to the dark side

I owned a 9MM Shield briefly. Had a few issues with it. A friend wanted it so I sold it, going back to a trusty revolver (442 no internal lock). With the current sale at Cabela's ($375 and a $75 rebate) I decided to give the Shield another try. My plan is to take it out and shoot the snot out of it to make sure that it is broke in. I do love a slim pistol. The Shield feels great in the hand and $300 for a name brand pistol is a no-brainer. I also picked up a Bianchi IWB leather holster.

I've got both...my Shield's accuracy is far superior to that of my 442 pro. I hope you like this one better.

I took the 442 out last week. The recoil was rather sharp. I have issues with a tendon in my middle finger. Hoping that the Shield will be less punishing on the hand. The wife will inheirit the 442.

Dark side? Did you get mixed up and mean to post about your Jiminez Arms 9mm?
This is Smith & Wesson, things are bright and sunny here.

This. I've carried J frame revolvers for the past 5+ years (442, 638, 640, with +P 38 Specials, and recently several 32 H&R Mag versions) but picked up a Shield last month after renting one on a whim at a local range. The Shield is amazingly comfortable to shoot the more powerful 9mm rounds, and much easier to shoot accurately than any of the J frames with full power carry loads. (The 32s are pleasant tack drivers with normal 32 loads, but I don't like shooting the Buffalo Bore +P carry loads in 'em at all, even in the steel guns.)

I will not be surprised if I replace the revolvers with the Shield as my daily carry piece, once I get it fully checked out for reliability.

Dark side: meaning that I had no affinity at all for polymer pistols. It took a long time to warm up to aluminum framed revolvers, and then hammerless" revolvers. Polymers are another part of an on-going and prolonged evolutionary process.

Ah, well glad you're warming up to the plastic pistols. Lots of goodness with Shield, glad your not missing out on it!
I drool over the offerings from Wilson Combat and Dan Wesson, but would likely still carry my Shield anyway.

You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Took the Shield out today. Much less punishing recoil on my arthritic hands than from the 442.

Is that middle finger problem from over use?😁

Nah! Not too many socialists around here so that finger isn't used too often.! Had a locking trigger finger. Had it injected and later had surgery. Got infected after surgery. Was on i.v. antibiotics for two weeks. It never really seemed to heal. Stiff and a little sore. Can't fully close my hand. Hoping it will heal with time. It's been about 7 months since surgery. In addition, the finger next to it, the ring finger, developed a cyst and had to be injected.

Guess I'm going to have to learn to shoot left handed!
