Default MP380 in a striker action?

Any word on whether S&W may be inclined to produce a striker fired .380 Pocket pistol? Something to compete with Glock's 42, but with a slimmer frame? Something like the Shield only smaller? 6+1 or maybe 7+1 would be nice.
I have the BG380 but lately has been suffering from light strikes! I love the Small EDC features but I am afraid the pistol is not as reliable as it was before. Light Strikes seem to plague the MP380 and I don't think S&W really has a fix for the problem. (At least from the many repeated complaints) about repairs that are needed over, and over!

I doubt S&W is looking to compete with The G 42, as I don't think it's that popular of a gun. People seem, these days, to equate .380 with a pocket gun, and the G 42 is not that. They have the Bodyguard .380 and I assume that's the only .380 they will produce. Maybe they could do a baby 1911 like Browning? That'd be cool!

A thinner/smaller shield in 380 would be nice, had a bodyguard that got replaced for a g42, is a bit larger but still fit nice on my cargo short's pocket.

I bought the M&P380 over the Rugr precisely because it was hammer fired rather than striker fired AND had repeat strike capability. I like the repeat strike capability of a hammer fired weapon. I just bought a couple of shields and although I like them a lot I wish they too were hammer fired pistols with repeat strike capability.

Agree 100%. By the way, my wife and I spent many nights at the dance joints in your neck of the woods.
