I have a PC, Ported, 9L. It is "optics ready"; but, I do not understand why it is not identified as "C.O.R.E.". Having said that, it is simply an outstanding firearm. I'm going to sell it as I have no real use for it as I also have a 4.25" C.O.R.E.
The PC Ported 9L has a great trigger and does have somewhat noticeable less felt recoil than my other 9s and drops right back on target. I am very impressed with mine.

I picked up the Performance Center 40L which I believe is the 40 caliber equivalent to your pistol. It is highly accurate, comfortable in the hand, and very easy to shoot. This pistol has quickly become one of my favorite guns, especially after one important upgrade.
Probably my only complaint has been the stock trigger. Pre-travel was a bit long, the trigger pull was not bad, and the reset was just about non-existent as far as being able to feel or hear it. That plus I have never liked the hinged M&P trigger that much, especially on a gun that is used more as a target pistol than a self defense gun. I really expected more for a Performance Center pistol.
So what I did was to install the Apex forward sear and aluminum flat trigger kit, as well as the Apex RAM kit. What a difference! It makes shooting the gun an entirely different experience. Pre-travel, what pre-travel? It's almost entirely gone. What I have now is a extremely tight, smooth trigger draw that breaks very cleanly at 2lb 6oz. The reset is now clearly felt and heard and is a huge improvement. The trigger now feels more like the trigger you would find in a 1911 pistol rather than a M&P.
I also installed a Vortex Venom on the gun and using the parts supplied, it was a cinch. This upgrade also makes shooting the pistol much more enjoyable and accurate.
So I think I took what was already a great gun and made it much better. The Apex trigger alone makes for an unbelievable difference. If you're on the edge about the Apex kit, just do it. You won't be sorry.
Congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure you'll like it, but if you really want to love it go with the Apex flat trigger and RAM kit. I generally don't modify my guns, but in this case I made an exception and it was well worth it.

Nice Upgrades
Hi,
Thanks for the Great Upgrade Information. Both my Friends have the Apex Trigger in their M&P CORE. I think I will change the Stock Trigger to the Apex Kit.
I Hopeing to get to the Range Friday.
You Could Help Me Out?
Do you find the Ported Barrel to get the Frame and Barrel EXTRA Dirty?
I have not decided on a Load Yet. I do think 115 Hollow Point Heads with Winchester 231 Powder.

Yes, more so than a non-ported barrel.

Mine runs like a clock with reloads. I tried 11, 13 and 15 lb flat wire springs and a stainless guide rod. Settled on 13lb. It seemed best for my 130ish pf loads. Vortex Venom did not stand up to well so I just got a delta point pro. You have to buy a separate mount for some red dots including DPP. Both Taylor Freelance (+10) and TarrenTactical (+6) mag extensions work great.

Peter, I too have an M&P Performance Center ported 9mm, and it’s the most fun to shoot of any gun I own. I put a Burris Fastfire 3 red dot on mine and it’s an absolute tack driver. I love to shoot it, but to clean it...not so much. Those ports get badly fouled and they’re no fun at all to clean. But the pure enjoyment of the gun - the trigger, the low recoil, the accuracy - make the extra cleaning effort worthwhile. I love mine, and I’m sure you’ll love yours as well...

Thank You
Hi,
Thank You for Your Help On Information on My Ported M&P.
Just came home from the Range. I did OK. Tried some Factory JHP 115gr. Had no Problems. Waiting on my Dillon Die Kit to Reload Some Ammo.
Shot about 150 Rounds. Sited in my Delta. Point Pro. Grouping was Very Good. I was able to get 3 In Same Hole. Benched.
The Clean Up was not too bad. Better then I thought.
Love the Pistol. So Happy I Bought it.
On a Side note. This is my first Polymer Frame Pistol.
How do you take out Scratches?
Thanks.

I had an M&P40 that I bought the Core slide kit and turned into a 5" ported 9mm. Sold off my .40 slide, barrel, and mags. Runs a Vortex Viper 6MOA. Sits low enough to co-witness sights. Shoots great. Picture is from when it still had the Fastfire III on in.

Great Information
Hi.
I love to see so many M&P Ported Fans!
I love my Delta Point Pro. I bought it New For a Great Price. The only thing is I can’t Co-Witness. It’s a Shame Leupold and S&W could not get Together on a Better Design.
