Is This A New 2.0 Shield??
On the cover of the current issue of Concealment magazine (published by Recoil), there is a pic of a new 2.0 Shield!! It is by Robar, and it's called the ASP! Has anyone seen or heard about this new model??

This is a customized one. There is no Shield 2.0 nor a 2.0 compact in the works at all.

The ASP started life as a Smith & Wesson M39 or M39-2. For those unfamiliar, the M39 is a double-action/single-action, single-stack 9mm auto with an aluminum frame and steel slide. It was the first of S&W’s “first gen” semi-autos and one of the oldest mainstream American-made auto-loading pistols.

And then they ruined it.

New to guns but i feel like S&W would never release a gun that looks like that... And that makes me happy

The Shield 45 has 2.0 features. It's like the Un branded 2.0 Shield. Or maybe 1.5

I believe the name chosen by Robar implies ASP 2.0, not Shield 2.0. For those that came in late, the original ASP was a modified S&W 39, and it looked something like this:

Cool! If anyone is interested in putting a reflex sight on any semi-auto on the cheap go to Sight Mount Home He sells a small picatinny piece that attaches with 3 small screws Requires drilling and tapping for those three screws. (Furnished) Then any reflex sight can be attached to your semi-auto! I chose a sight that had an option with a picatinny mount.
It's great on a M&P 9. Almost like having a Sig P320 X-FIVE!

Great Gatsby! What a nightmare that gun is!
It looks like someone went to the chinese buffet, had a little bit of everything and then barfed it up! LOL

The ASP 2.0 is made possible by the new JC Whitney catalog for firearms. If I ordered an ASP, I think I'd Whitneyize it even further with some baby moon covers for the S&W logos and a necker knob takedown lever. I'd add a flame job to the the slide and tuck-and-roll grip covers. I still haven't made up my mind on the fuzzy dice option.

Thanks for the historical background on the original 1974 ASP. It looks like the perfect pocket pistol for a leisure suit.

Looks like a customized shield such as my personal shield. Love the grips on that one. Maybe I'll eventually taket the soldering iron to mine as well. Did my cheap SAR B6PC myself, turned out pretty nice.
