Default M&P 22 compact 25 cent trigger job

I have a M&P 22 compact that I have about 1500 rounds through. I wish the trigger press was smoother. Is there a procedure to polish the internal trigger component surfaces. I have two Glocks and I have done a 25 cent trigger job on each gun to make the trigger press smoother.

As a 22 Compact owner I am anxious to learn from replies. Since most of my handgun eperience was with M1911 I think the trigger of the 3 compact is sweet. But if it can be improved I want to know how.

Ditto! I love my 22 Compact and use it regularly as a training pistol!
Even with the trigger as it is, I find it can also assist new shooters with learning some of the basics of trigger control (i.e. staging).

I don't have the .22, but in the three M&Ps I have had, I found most of the grittiness came from the firing pin block. Whether this applies to the .22, I couldn't say.

I just picked up an M&P 22 compact and cleaned up the trigger a little by polishing some of the bearing surfaces. There's still a little hitch at the end, but that may work itself out over time.

Yes. Correctly, "Striker Block". When I inspect a new M&P that's the first thing I check. I am always surprised how much the smoothness varies from gun to gun.......

I've never even held this .22 but I'll bet with a little digging some parts can be found that benefit from polishing.....!!

ultrtec00, is there a procedure you can point me to to polish the trigger parts?

I have two Glocks and they dis-assemble very easy with only three metal pins. The M&P 22 compact has several pins and I have not seen any procedures telling how to do it.

Thanks!
