Question Triggers Are Getting Better

I own an M&P .40 1.0 & 2.0. Each one has about 600-800 rounds through them. And, the triggers internal parts are starting to feel better. I was thinking about getting a kit for each one to lighten the pull and get rid of the mushy gritty feeling. Well, it seems like the more I shoot them the better they get, so I don't need a kit. But, I don't like the curved triggers! I know APEX makes a great polymer trigger. Can someone that has installed one in their M&P tell me the part number and how it has improved your gun? Also, are there any other good trigger manufacturers out there besides APEX that are low priced as well?
Thanks!

You want a lower priced trigger than a apex polymer trigger ?? Its only 40 bucks plus shipping .

Wifes CORE has about 7400 rounds threw the stock tuned up trigger . Other than a striker block change the trigger grioup is stock parts with lots of polishing and it stills the worse factory trigger I can think of , just with a lighter pull weight . Until I added one part , a apex AET aluminum trigger .

I gladly buy a APEX AET Aluminum curved trigger for a m&p along with there semi fit barrel . Turns a **** into a pistol with a smooooth trigger pull it should have had when first designed . I've not tried a polymer trigger but have the aluminum AET in my wifes CORE and also did the semi fit barrel . For the first time its a handgun I now want to shoot .

Great trigger with a shorter reset along with the easy to do barrel upgrade is now a pistol capable of 1.5" 25yard groups .

I have the apex trigger in the 9mm shield.....it's better than the stock trigger but it's not night and day. The key for me is that it is more comfortable to shoot. The stock trigger left my finger stinging somehow. Don't know the part number but the package says "M&P Shield Duty/Carry Kit".

I did the Apex trigger thing (kit) on my SD9VE. On that platform it WAS night and day for the trigger.

I did put an Apex sear in one Shield9 but I havent changed out any trigger(s) on them yet (9's or 45's). We seem to be ok with the design/takeup/overtravel/reset so far. The sear alone (also 40 bucks) changes the geometry so the takeup/overtravel is different and it also lightens the pull appx 1.5lbs. Unless you just dont like the trigger itself this route may be what your looking for.

Seems like "gritty" is always in the safety plunger/guide. Guys who polish them up with 600-1500 grit always seem to talk about how smooth the trigger is after that exercise. (and thats the Shield, I dont have a FS)

Shield9mm has several platforms with Apex triggers I believe. He'll be along shortly.

Indeed, I have tried a lot of different apex parts and trigger kits combinations on the M&P

To the OP the apex polymer trigger alone will improve trigger overtravel and reset, but won't get rid of the grittiness or reduce trigger pull. However it gives you the feeling of a lighter trigger pull, I have it alone on my 9c and I like it a lot.

To get rid of the mushy trigger and reduce trigger pull the duty carry kit is probably the best option. It is also good to polish the internals (trigger bar, striker block).

Disabled1 Your not the only disabled person around here , get my drift !! Like my wife you bought a m&p and should have known the triggers are not good . I bought another brand that aver all os a better handgun !! Maybe you can take yours down to parts and do some polishing of trigger group parts , buy a apex striker block kit and some polishing the chamber area it rides inand that will make it about as good as it will get with out some more $$ throwed at it . That's were I stated but several years later saving dollars I made the changed to make it right all around .

Send apex a mail stating your problems and maybe they will help you out too ! Maybe
