Hey guys. Is there a down and dirty at home method that i can use when i get my laser on my shield for aligning the laser to the POI (i know it won't be perfect, just looking for close). Was suggested a laser bore sighter, but at that point i'd just use the money and go to the range and do it the right way. No time for range as of late so a few minutes tinkering will suffice, if it's possible.

When I installed mine on my 2.0 MP it was virtually on target already at 10 yards. I think they are centered out of the factory. I would step off the distance you want and see where it points..

This method will get you close.

1. Make sure firearm is unloaded (duh!). It seems like this is a requisite statement in all such advice.
2. Attach laser device to firearm.
3. Find a room that has an appropriate width or length, probable 25-30 feet.
4. Place firearm in padded vice or similar device to secure firearm at one of the room aiming at the far wall. Make sure it is positioned so you can look down the sights. If you don't have a vice or clamps duct tape can be employed.
5. Using a piece of paper with a contrasting 1-3" dot pasted or colored onto paper, use masking tape to tape the paper onto the wall opposite the firearm and adjust the paper (and or the revolver) until the sights are appropriately aligned with the the contrasting dot on the paper.
6. Adjust the laser until it is centered on the dot.
7. Go to the range to test fire for final adjustments.

Everyone I know that has one has never needed to adjust it. They've all been POA/POI

I can hope. Looks to be a tad bit to the right but I don't know where its adjusted to (distance). I'll adjust at the range whenever I go. Nice unit. Fits tightly around the trigger guard.

Have someone else shoot it. Could possibly be you and not the laser. Also what do your groups look like?

My TLR6 was 6 inches low and 3 inches to the left at 10 yards. I have a laser trainer that shuts a laser for like half a second when I pull the trigger. I used this to sight it at my house along with the sight. Once done was right on at the range. Laser trainer helps for when I dry fire practice.

Not saying use, or go get, a laser trainer just saying my TLR6 was way off out of the box.

Are they expensive? Can you link me?

So far so good. Had it for a couple of months. It fits my Shields fine. The only gun it's doesn't fit that I have is my original LC9. Its great for dry firing.

maybe these laser trainers are legit, but i've looked into getting a bore laser sight before and some reading showed that they're not necessarily accurate. i approximately sighted my TLR6 at home by making it line up with the iron sights at 10 yards, then went to the range and made a few adjustments there. It's kind of eerie how accurate it is (when I can manage a trigger pull that doesn't disturb the gun, while maintaining a firm grip)
