Shield 45 PC
After waiting for a Shield 45 w/o safety, I picked up a Performance Center model. It is extremely accurate. I did notice that when my wife shots it, we get FTF's on the 3rd round sometimes. The slide is forward, but no round in the chamber. This has never happened to me yet when I am shooting it. Always the 3rd round and not sure if it is the same mag each time or not.
I assumed she is limp wristing it, but not sure. Anyone else hear of this? I do love the Shield 45 PC!

Is your wife a shooter? My wife is. She limpwrists hers occasionally but she will call it on herself when it happens.
Not sure what round its on though.

The 45 shield needs the up dated followers. Sounds like the follower may be dragging on the magazine catch. Causing the rounds to not come up fast enough to catch the next round. Also causes rounds to nose dive on occasion. The follower update should correct the issue

She is nudging the mag release just enough to cause it to move slightly imo 3rd is coincidence.
Is the follower orange like this?
Mine has at least 1k down the pipe and all my mags are this kind.
Never had an issue FMJ or JHP most all 240gr

Both old and new followers are the same color. I've attached Dad Roman's post from another thread showing a photo of old and new followers. The new one has the arrow pointing to it, and features a vertical groove cut into the right front corner of the follower.

The 3rd round on the 6 round mag is when the follower comes to the mag catch. It is the the forth on the 7 round mag. It's no coincidence.

So it happened with 7 round as well then?
I have 4 7 rd mags all as pictured. No groove and no issue with any.
Hope it stays that way

That LRHO is a metal plate that snaps into the follower in a slot.
Sometimes I wonder if these problems may be caused by that plate hanging over the edge of the follower just the slightest bit.
Mine were not, but I could see how it would be very easy to let one hang off just a few thou.
Drag a thumbnail over it...if it hangs hit it with a touch of sandpaper so it is flush

Thanks for all the input . I will pay more attention next time at the range to see if it is the 6 or 7 round mag. The 2 mags that came with the gun are newer ones.
