Turned my Glock G19 into...
So awhile ago I posted a thread about shooting my Shield better than my G19... and contemplating selling the G19.
Well, I found a buyer that want it, and turned the sale into .....
A brand new M&P9 and a new Triteonics training collar for my dog. Cabelas has the M&P9 on clearnace right now for $349.99. I had my local Fleet Farm price match it (which they agreed to), and also got the training collar on sale for $180. So I had to put in about $50, but I think I got a great deal... plus I can send in for the mags, ammo, and mag charger!

Nice! I think $349 is a great value! I must shop around. No Cabela's in my area, but online perhaps...

I think you did well. I don't and WON'T own any Glocks.
Can you tell us the manufacture date? I would be interested to know if it's the latest updated model. A few months ago I rolled the dice and bought an un-issued/NIB LE trade in Detroit PD .M&P .40 1.0. It was made in November 2015. When I called S&W they stated that it had the latest updates done to it.

That's an excellent deal. I have a number of Glocks but they see far less range time than my M&P's do.

Yeh, Those Glocks. Only the most widely used Police and military firearm in the world.

Hmmmm......shame that Glock held onto such a large portion of it's value. I promise you the M & P won't.
Lol, just giving you a hard time. I hope you enjoy your new pistol. Something tells me the dog might be less than thrilled about the new collar though.
Enjoy your new M & P.

Seriously. He should try the collar out on himself and then think about using it on the dog. Cruelty to animals?

You seem to be confusing "Glock fanboy" (ie. someone that rabidly endorses and defends everything about them), with folks that merely like and appreciate them for the well established and very high degree of functonality they provide. Owning a Glock or two doesn't make someone a "fan boy".
Your bitter and overstated dislike of them is just as biased and irrational a view as that of the actual slobbering fan boys.

The G19 was / is a great pistol. Mine was 100% reliable. Just didn't fit my hand well, especially the finger grooves. I thought about grinding them off but just couldn't bring myself to do it.
The dog doesn't mind the training collar at all. Very seldom do I have to use it to reinforce a command. The majority of the time the vibration mode or tone signal is all it takes

The Largest Police Department in my state switched to M&P. I rarely see the Police around here carrying Glocks. Most carry M&P and some Sigs. It seemed like they all carried Glocks 15 years ago.

Municipal police departments consider cost more than anything, so this doesn't necessarilly mean the M&P's are the absolute best option available (and I say that as a happy current, and former, M&P owner).
Another likely factor is the availability of the thumb safety on the M&P's, especially given the well publicized cases of "Glock leg" and other AD's in police locker rooms.
Also, a great many of those Glocks from 15 years ago, were chambered in 40S&W, and with everybody going back to the "kinder and gentler" 9mm, those old 40's all went to Buds, J&G Sales, etc.
Then S&W no doubt made them an offer they couldn't refuse.
(BTW, here in Columbus, Georgia, they've also switched over to the M&P9).

No hatred at all. I just think the grip ergonomics are wrong for me. It's also OUTSTANDING if you choose to be a Glock Fanboy! LOL!

C'ain't tell what's going on with M&P (double stack) prices, seems like a couple of months ago there was plenty of sub-$400 examples out there, I got an 40c for $320 w/ 3 mags. Now the online price is around $425-475. Having the price for one of your main products bounce all over the place can't be good for sales because people will forego paying retail or close to retail and constantly be waiting for a "deal."

You're wrong, our intellectual superiors regularly use the term "gun violence" if guns can commit violence, they are not inanimate, ipso facto. They are running around killing people on their own.

I too own and appreciate different brands. Although all must have the same manual of arms. ( Mostly no manual safety)
I have two Sigs, one Glock (sold one) two Shields and a Ruger LC9s Pro.
Every one proven reliable ( Minimum 500 rounds each) and more accurate for their intended purpose than me.
I don't love any of them. They're tools albeit fine tools.
Stay safe
