Like my new 2.0 so much am considering a Shield especially with the Rebate, but would like some info please.

When was the last time the Shield was updated/upgraded and is there a "New" version on the Horizon?

Also any way to tell when my 2.0 was made?

The various versions of Shield are all the original engineering release AFAIK.

There is a date code on the box.

Is it also on the Shield Box? Had bought a XDM 9 last yr. and it had been sitting in warehouse for 1 1/2 yrs. till it was sent to my dealer, but it was the latest version!

Note if you have a box without a basic (easy to read) date code or perhaps no box at all; one can always contact S&W's customer service with the serial # and they can provide that info as well.
