I got a great deal on my M&P40c a couple of months ago from Sportsman's Guide and was expecting the standard 2 10 round mags, but when I opened the blue plastic case, it had two finger extension mags and a flat base mag in the gun.

So, was this a mistake by S&W or maybe some kind of promotion that SG forgot to put in its advertising?

I'm not complaining, it just seems weird that they'd just throw an extra mag, worth ~$25 and not say anything about it. I'm like most of you and factor the cost of magazines into the total budget of owning a particular gun.

Maybe you got a law enforcement gun. They come with three.

Yes, it seems that the LE UPC: 022188864021 comes with 3 mags.

When I search that UPC and look at it on Bud's, the model no is that SKU 307303 with LE at the end, so another LE version.

I found this from a post from few years back: "(SKU#) 10xxxx will be 10rd guns, 20xxxx are hi-cap guns and 30xxxx are LE packages usually 3-mags and night sights."

Seems like it had 3 mags because it was supposed to have three mags. Still, that's a selling point and you should always mention a selling point when you're selling stuff.
