I just stopped by to say that my favorite range gun is my CORE. I had to send it back when I got it due to a defective barrel. After a month my gun came back with a new barrel that must have been fitted properly. The trigger feels like it too was replaced. I installed Dawson fixed fiber optic sights and this gun really shoots. It out shoots my PPQ and the other 9's I have. Today I shot about 100 reloads and it's a great and very accurate gun to shoot.
I do like those dawson sites. I've got different styles on a bunch of guns. I like the charger rears on the regular M&P's. their tritium front sites leave a bit to be desired though. the white ring around the vial is not very well done. I have ended up very carefully painting in the ring with my own paint since the stuff they use seems a bit lack luster. the rears have a thin silver (aluminum I think) ring around them
i bought a M&P CORE and a red dot sight because cataracts were playing hob with me seeing the sights on my 1911s. now that I've had surgery, i'm having a hard time going back. i never thought I'd be saying this.
I've got 9L PC Core that I absolutely love.
just ordered an apex USB to drop in (since it's so easy too on the core slides) to see
what it does to a trigger I already really like.
Unfortunately 800 rounds in the Shield Mini sight it came with just died on me.
Waiting to hear back from England, hopefully they can send me a replacement quickly.
In the meantime the Vortex Venom I bought for
my Ruger mark III will have a new temporary home
Update, the Shield mini sight is on it's way back to England, so
I've been shooting this just using the Iron sights, took me a bit
to get used to such tall sights, I found I was dead center but
shooting low so I had to make some adjustments. I also
discovered that Sellier and Bellot 115gr and Fiocchi 115gr both
shoot really well out of this gun. I've been shooting 124 gr Blazer
brass out of my shield and 9C for so long I kind of dismissed
115gr 9mm.
Also I recently picked up a Ruger mark III stainless steel Target model with
all of the internals already updated to Volquartsen
that is the most accurate thing I've ever fired. Scary good, anyway I had
ordered a Vortex Venom for it and it just arrived
but since my shield RMS is out of commission I threw it on my
M&P 9L. It's obvious that I can't co witness with the Vortex like
you can with the shield (really well I might add) so I am going to play around with it
and see what I think. the vortex is 3MOA the Shield is 4, I'm curious to see if I can even
notice a difference when I'm out on the range shooting.
