Default Trigger take up question Shield 9mm

Have a Shield 9mm and was wondering about the amound of "Takeup" until you can feel the trigger starting to work. Is there anything that can be done easially to cut down on this issue? Not wanting to spend a lot of money (the Apex items) but is there any type of "fix" for same??? This may have been asked before but I can not find any info so appreciate any consversation on this subject.

I put a set screw in front of trigger to take up pre travel. Check it out.
HTML Code:

Did the same to my 9mm M&P CORE PC. Took some fiddling of the trigger bar loop to get everything to break to my liking but love the results.

Cheers

Philip

your link didn't work. I hope you didn't take out too much of the pre travel because you could VERY easily disable the striker safety doing something like this with the shields trigger system making that gun a ticking time bomb. I had to take another look at my shield from the standpoint of doing something like this... as long as you didn't modify the trigger safety and didn't try to adjust it past where it naturally stops while the trigger safety is engaged then you will be fine.

there are no after market parts for pre-travel adjustment on the shield at this time. The apex action enhancement trigger should might get rid of a tiny bit but still has a lot.

The only way to do it is how the previous poster was talking about with some kind of set screw mod or something but I would not recommend doing that unless you are extremely intimate with shield trigger system. Doing something like this can VERY easily disable the striker block safety.

Hmmmm. I guess it doesn't like the link. Oh well, might be for the best.

Striker safety is working just fine. That's what all the fiddling was about.

I agree with smakmauz. If you're not comfortable with messing with it then leave it stock. Just practice a lot and get use to stock setup. Better safe than......
